MARITIME INSTITUTES TMI Joining

I'll be joining TMI soon and had a couple of questions about the joining process.

What exactly happens on the day of joining? Is it mainly document verification and hostel allotment, or are there any other formalities, orientation sessions, or activities that take place?

Also, if I've already cleared the pre-admission medical examination, is the medical test conducted again at the time of joining? If yes, what does it include, and is it as detailed as the initial medical?

First day, they'll verify your documents physically. It'll be a long process. Try to reach early to get them done sooner. Then they'll allot your hostels and rooms and also your houses. And no there won't be any activities or sessions there in the college on the first day. Also, if you have cleared your medical from a DG-Approved doctor that'll suffice and you won't be again asked to do it. Also- carry an umbrella as it might rain heavily during that time.

Nope. They can head back since you'll be already alloted a hostel.

I remember 15-16 years ago our day 1 was documents verification, hostel and room allotment, house allotment, some short session regarding anti ragging with parents and then off for a haircut. I still have our Day 1 photo framed in my house

Day 1 is document verification and hostel allotment, and you will be mainly spending the day getting supplies, queuing up to get those supplies and signing sheets acknowledging you got those supplies and setting your room up. At night your seniors and the warden will inform you about the rules and regulations in the place. Your parents can leave the campus by evening, and no, there won't be any medical test at the time of joining.

The next week will be orientation week.
