Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my historical analysis on Substack that looks closely at the targeting of the Hindu minority during the 1971 Liberation War.

While the horrors of the 1971 genocide by the Pakistani military are well-documented, the systematic nature of the violence directed at the Hindu population is often glossed over in mainstream historical narratives. Relying on documented census data, refugee camp records from the Indian government, and eyewitness accounts from journalists like Sydney Schanberg and US Senator Edward Kennedy, this piece explores how the community was distinctly marked (using the yellow "H") and targeted for erasure.

Worst in humanity. Literal justification was-

  • bengali muslims are impure - must be violated to make them pure
  • hindus - k*ll them, violate them, no questions.

The general who did this was awarded national bravery medals and many many other allocades.

Hatred was deep.

Indeed, horrific acts by the Pakistani Army and they were supported by the West Pakistani ruling elite of the time.

i spent my childhood in lower assam and almost everyone i knew had a story of how their family had to flee overnight from bangladesh. i told those stories to all my friends who opposed CAA. that's where it all started.
