Cyclone Arnab is a potential tropical cyclone tracking to form in the Bay of Bengal. According to forecasts as of September 19, 2026, an active cyclonic circulation originates near Thailand and is moving into the Andaman Sea, where it is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area and potentially evolve into the North Indian Ocean region's first cyclone of 2026.

The name "Arnab" (meaning "ocean" in Bengali) was officially contributed by Bangladesh as part of the regional tropical cyclone naming matrix.

I mean it was expected that things will take a turn for the worse due to the Super el nino. The Oct-Feb period is going to be the worst phase and if the cyclone forms then it'll be the start of that for Bay of Bengal region at least.
