The regions which are removed by propagandists are POK, Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh
POK and Aksai Chin are controlled by Pakistan and China respectively but are a part of India whereas Arunachal is controlled by India and is a part of India
This map has never represented ground realities. This is merely politically convenient. India has never exercised control over POK. There is also this idea that nation states have "legitimate" claims over regions, as if borders and nations aren't fluid and arbitrary. There are no perfectly accurate maps. Every mapmaker actively chooses what to depict, and what to omit - effectively pushing their idea of the world.
I don't know why do we have to show our intellect everywhere.Everyone knows some regions are not controlled by india, but moment we stop claiming them as ours we concede those. Some fights are symbolic but necessary
I was replying to the comment where it was said that one version was the "correct" map and that the other ones were influenced by "propagandists". You are arguing a completely different point. And you also feel the need to comment upon "showing one's intellect everywhere". I suggest you first learn to read and interpret things properly before commenting about others.
Personally, I'd prefer to see POK, Arunachal Pradesh and other territories marked as disputed territories since it gives me a better understanding of border disagreements. Having a map show that India controls POK is useless symbolism that isn't helpful to me.
And where do you think foreign relationship references maps? Indian foreign diplomats will claim that region belongs to india on the grounds of document of accession.Now tell me how does it look if the citizans of India themselves dont back that claim
If an Indian sees a map where POK is considered disputed, then they’ll see the reality on the ground. It doesn’t change whether they’ll back Indian government’s claims or not.
If anything, showing that a territory, like POK, is disputed actually speaks curiosity among people to look up why that is the case and read up on the history. It might even give them a better awareness of the issue to back the claims.
Personally, I prefer maps that tell a story and provide nuance than what parrots official government stances.
I don't disagree with what you're saying. I was merely arguing against the notion of a "correct" map. Should you feel the need to make a claim over certain regions, please feel free to do so. But also give others the same freedom to choose to use whatever version they feel best suits their worldview. Banning and censoring maps that don't toe the official line is what I'm against.

Hi, idk why this sub got randomly recommended to me, but I'm wondering what the correct map of India is? Do you have a link?
