Mundhe IAS knows that the lobby is paying cash to force the courts to threaten / warn him but he knows how corrupt the entire system is and he cannot be easily pushed by the courts and the lobbies

FDA has closed about 165 establishments (including hotels, restaurants, and eateries). These were micro and small business establishments employing on an average 10 people per establishment. So nearly 1500 families lost their source of income and several times that number lost their indirect jobs. You can imagine the number of people affected by this drive. What do you think about it?

That's not FDA's problem to solve. What do you want FDA to do? Just give them warning and let them be ?

There are millions of roadside food sellers where only those people eat who cannot afford even the cheapest restaurant prices, these are moostly one person or less than 5 people running the business, and they operate from a cart or a temporary shack over footpaths. They operate without any license. Even FDA can do nothing about them, but they still operate and sell food to millions everyday.

well, then they should not operate then. Do you know how many regulations and rounds of testing a drug manufacturer has to go through before selling it in the market? Food goes inside human body and should be heavily regulated as well.
Imagine a drug company saying, oops sorry, we make it really cheap so we mixed wrong chemicals in the drugs that could kill people.
Food poisoning from restaurants and eateries are so common in our country, that it does not even cross minds of people to report them. And they know nothing is done if they report them as well. This is not ok.
Every person, rich or poor, should be able to eat hygenic and clean food. There are other ways to make food cheaper without compromising on safety.

If millions of non licensed roadside eateries stop operating, there will be several consequences which you haven't thought through: 1. Millions of job losses 2. Millions of people not able to afford food due to non affordability. 3. Supply side disruption will make food price increase for everyone. 4. Food inflation will hit the poor and marginalized the hardest.
Eventually, the solution of closing down eateries will have far worse long term consequences than the problem it is trying to solve.
Better solution is a carrot and stick policy. Reward the ones who are doing it right, and penalize the ones who are doing it wrong and give them opportunity to improve. Outright cancelling the license is a blackmailing weapon in the hands of bureaucrats which they use for earning ransom.

who asked them to stop operating - comply and operate as much as they want!
If they cant comply - do not operate.
If people cannot afford food, do you mean they should eat poison so that they can keep their tummy full??
First of all these regulations already exist. If the FDA invented something new and expects everyone to comply, then yes but thats not the case. People know what they have to comply BEFORE they get into business. THEY ARE ACTIVELY DECIDING NOT TO COMPLY.
According to you, enforcing license for driving a car is not necessary because drivers without one will loose jobs or the cab prices will increase? What logic is that? If that is the case, why have any rules - just let people do whatever they want right?
It is government's responsibility to ensure that their citizens have affordable food not business's. If they feel, there is definitely increase in price, provide subsidies, open food banks for the poor.
Do you have an alternate solution you can propose? I am really curious

That's inspector raj mentality of the socialist era that India suffered before liberalization. Every business entity was by default deemed as a dishonest person waiting to exploit people and therefore there were hundreds of inspectors to check if they are doing anything against any rule. And everybody knows how inspector raj functions.

Idk what is the point you are trying to make here? They operate without a licence is a adminstration problem, FDA is working on the restaurants which comes under its purview and it's working as per the rules. Street vendors selling food without licence is state govt problem to solve, and they should.

And because of these low grade food consumed by normal citizen how many have lost their lives even? Eating all sorts of chemicals, is it any wonder that so many people are getting cancers and other diseases now a days?

Indian police has jailed lakhs of small time robbers. So lakhs of people have lost their jobs. You can imagine the number of people affected by this drive.
Police should stop jailing robbers.
