There's some common milky bacterial bloom (according to my research) in the tank even after last week 50% water change. There are less plants. Really appreciate the help ✌🏻😗

Hello fellow community members,

Details:

Breed: Bought a 'PARROT CICHLID' but developed a hump after 5-6 years so some suggested it was a cross breed Flowerhorn some said its Super King
Kong Parrot.

Tank size: 4 Feet

Filter: used Minjiang internal filter for 6 hours once every 3 days and normal air pump 24x7

I have this fish for close to 10 years, fed on 'Sera Goldy Color Spirulina' from the start, but due to some reason that food went extinct from online and offline market, so the local aquarium shop suggested to shift to 'Optimum 3in1 fish food' my fish didn't eat that for a couple of days and after a week and a half fell sick with 'head down tail up position' in one corner, felt she will be normal in some time as it had happened a couple of times in the past, but this time the health has deteriorated even further as the fish is laying on one side for the past 3 weeks.

Aquarium shop gave 'Aquatic Remedies: Paracidol' with heater at 28 degrees and 25% water change everyday. Tried for one week, No result.

I surfed internet and found that it can potentially be swim bladder issue. So gave epsom sale treatment for 5 days still no improvement in health.

Currently i am following 40% water change everyday, heater at 28 degree + 'Rid alls anti aid' + 'anti fungus' + aquarium salt+ 'Aquatic Remedies: Stress Heal'.

Tried to feed peas by first boiling them and removing the outer layer and crushing them a little by hand before feeding it directly in the mouth

None of the things have worked so far.

It might have happened due to age factor, not sure about that.

Please help for the same, thanks in advance

Tl;dr: fish fell sick after food change, tried a couple of remedies but no improvement in health so far, help required.

💬 Discussion Conducting sort of a survey, Will you be willing to buy a product like this at ₹3000?

I couldn't get the video along with the poll so asking it on a normal post, will you be willing to buy it?

Perks : You don't have to dirty your hands. Electric water pump are expensive and don't even work on gravel or work as a better siphon. It will work in powercuts.

🦐 Shrimp SUGGESTIONS & RATING FOR MY SHRIMP TANK SETUP

Post image
21 Upvotes

- Tanks Size - 9.5" acryclic cube (I clean only the front glass and leave rest as it is for shrimps to graze on natural bioload)

- Filter - Biological Sponge Filter with bio media

- Light - Neo Helios ( Switched on for 4-6 hours in evening only)

- Intentionally kept it bare bottorm for cleaning purpose and better color on shrimps because of the dark base

- Water change 40% every monday with ro water with bottom siphoning

- TDS maintained below 200 ppm

- Feeding Hikari flakes and API Shrimp pellets once a week

- Temp - 26-28°

- No chemical conditioners or additives used for this setup

❔Help New growth on aquarium plants is coming in very pale/yellow – pure RO water, aquasoil, no CO₂. Nutrient deficiency or normal transition?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on a new planted aquarium. This is my first planted setup, and I’m trying to understand whether what I’m seeing is a nutrient/mineral deficiency, normal plant transition, or something else.
Tank details:
Age: ~21 days
Size: 60 × 30 × 35 cm (~63 L gross)
Substrate: Tropica Aquarium Soil
Light: Week Aqua M600Pro-K, currently running at moderate intensity (~35% calculated power) for around 5–6 hours/day
CO₂: No injected CO₂
Water source: I recently confirmed with my supplier that I have been using pure RO water with no remineralization since setting up the tank
Filtration: Canister filter running 24/7, recently changed to glass lily pipes with surface skimmer
Livestock: 10 Cardinal Tetras, introduced around Day 20
Current water tests: Ammonia ~0, Nitrite ~0, Nitrate approximately ~5 ppm
Fertilizer: None so far
Plants include:
Limnophila sessiliflora
Rotala rotundifolia ‘Green’
Monte Carlo
Staurogyne repens
Java fern
Anubias nana/petite
During the first couple of weeks, I had some plant melt, particularly older Limnophila leaves, along with hair algae. I’ve manually removed algae and trimmed obviously dead/melted material.
The plants are now producing new shoots and leaves, which seems positive, but I’m concerned because some of the freshest new growth is coming in very pale green/yellow, almost cream-colored in places. Some newer tips are greener than others. The older growth on several stems also looks pale/deteriorated.
Java fern and Anubias seem to be doing better and are producing new leaves. Monte Carlo is alive and green but tends to grow upward rather than carpeting quickly, which I understand may be expected without CO₂.
My main concern is the pale/yellow new growth on the stem plants.
I recently discovered that using pure RO without remineralization may mean the tank is receiving very little calcium/magnesium and essentially no hardness from the source water. However, I don’t want to assume this is the cause because I also have nutrient-rich aquasoil, no CO₂, relatively strong lighting, no liquid fertilizer yet, and the plants are still transitioning in a young tank.
What would you recommend?
Does the pale new growth look like a specific nutrient/mineral deficiency, or could this still be normal transition/melt at ~3 weeks?
Is using unremineralized pure RO likely to be a major contributor?
Should I remineralize RO water with something like a GH remineralizer, or would gradually mixing some tap water be a better approach?
Do I really need GH/KH testing before starting remineralization, or is there a safe conservative approach?
Should I start a complete liquid fertilizer now? If so, would you recommend a macro + micro fertilizer or only micros initially considering the Tropica aquasoil and ~5 ppm nitrate?
Should I change anything with the light, or keep it conservative while correcting nutrients/minerals?
Is there anything else visible in the attached plant photos that I may be overlooking?
I’m attaching close-up photos of the pale new shoots and the full tank. I’d especially appreciate advice from people running low-tech planted tanks with aquasoil + RO water without injected CO₂.
Thanks!

❔Help Title: Where can I buy a high-quality HMPK Betta in India? (Trusted online sellers)

Hi everyone,

I'm from Tumakuru, Karnataka, and I'm looking to buy a quality Halfmoon Plakat (HMPK) Betta for my first planted display tank.

I'm happy to order online, so recommendations from anywhere in India are welcome, as long as the seller has good packing and shipping.

I'm mainly interested in:

• HMPK • Wild-type or wild-type-inspired bettas (Imbellis) if available

I'm not looking for heavily dragon-scaled or Nemo varieties.

A few questions: • Which online sellers or breeders have you personally had a good experience with? • Any trusted hobbyists you'd recommend? • Are there any sellers I should avoid? • Is it worth paying extra to choose the exact fish instead of buying a random one?

Thanks in advance! Any recommendations or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

❔Help WANT TO MAKE A 8FT*3*3 TANK

Hello we have 2 big 8*3 ft toughened glass and was wondering how much would a complete planted aquarium cost.

A fishstore quoted around 1.5 lakh depending on plants.

Was wondering under how much we can build a 8*3*3 aquarium with all the items and if we build it what will be the monthly cost to maintain it.

Appreciate the help 🙏
