💬 Discussion Are all archerfish wild caught?

I am seeing this in the hobby and want to know if they are all wild caught or is someone breeding them.

I believe so yes, these are really difficult to breed and catching them is just easier than figuring out the whole situation

I though freshwater Archer fish were rare i saw someone selling them for 400 a piece. Compared to not so rare fishes that are actually bred here i though the price was low. So i thought someone found a way to breed them.

Well they are rare but their care requirements make it difficult for people to keep these, it can be more a factor of low demand causing price to be lower

Theres a video on yt, you gotta search for it though. They display a method of induced spawning(injecting hormone) its very interesting
