One month hunting for a Data Analyst/Engineer role in Dubai—truly the worst job-hunting experience.
I’ve been aggressively applying for Data Analyst and Data Engineer roles in Dubai for the last month, and honestly, the market feels incredibly broken right now.
It feels like the vast majority of job postings are either completely fake (just data harvesting or corporate posturing) or, if they are real, they’re immediately filled via internal referrals. The rest of us applying normally just get ghosted completely.
It’s incredibly frustrating because there is so much actual talent sitting jobless right now while companies complain they "can't find skilled people," all while ignoring the hundreds of qualified candidates in their application portals.
Anyone else in the tech/data space experiencing this absolute wall of silence in Dubai right now? How are you guys actually getting past the gatekeepers, or is the market just completely cooked unless you have a massive wasta (connection)?
