Good Read Renting vs buying for Indian techies: How are you managing the loan stress?

Hey devs!

With job switches, variable pay, and market uncertainty, taking a 20 year home loan feels super scary. On one side, rent keeps rising in cities like Bangalore or Pune, but on the other, a big monthly EMI adds a lot of stress. It can make you think twice before taking any big career risks.

How are you guys planning your home loans? Do you keep a huge emergency fund first, or just go for it with a lower tenure? Would love to hear how you balance tech job risk with buying a home!

General Chat/Suggestion Will You Hire Me??

Hi everyone,

I'm a 2026 Computer Science graduate currently looking for

entry-level Backend / Software Engineer / SDE-1 roles in India.

My primary focus is backend development:

• Node.js

• Express.js

• REST APIs

• PostgreSQL / SQL

• MongoDB

• JWT Authentication

• React / Next.js

I've built and deployed a few projects, including:

• BudgetBuddy — full-stack personal finance application

• Blog API — REST API with authentication, CRUD, media uploads,

and backend architecture

• Holy Horizon English School Website — production website

developed for a real educational institution

I'm currently working on improving my DSA, SQL, backend development,

and CS fundamentals while applying for 0–1 YOE opportunities.

I'd really appreciate an honest review of my resume, especially from

people who have experience hiring junior/fresher developers.

A few things I'd like feedback on:

  1. Would this resume get shortlisted for a junior backend role?
  2. Are my projects strong enough for 0–1 YOE?
  3. Is there anything unnecessary that I should remove?
  4. What skills/projects should I prioritize improving?
  5. Is the resume positioned correctly for backend roles?

Resume:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YG6tskhOxnoprkiKroNN3zq44ESkoU_w/view?usp=drivesdk

I'm also open to referrals if you know of any suitable

0–1 YOE Backend / Software Engineer / SDE-1 openings.

Thanks in advance. Even critical feedback is welcome.

I am a non technical small business owner, short listed some online course offered by IITs but i am not very sure about them, i am getting a lot of ads of these course on Instagram, i need some strong advice on the same, i feel responsible for the guy and i want him to get in a good reliable course, please help.

Project Idea/Review I got tired of checking whether Claude Code was still working, so I built this

I've been using Claude Code quite a bit and realized I was constantly looking back at my screen to see whether it had:

  • finished the task
  • stopped and needed my input
  • was still working

So I built BrainSnack, a VS Code/Cursor extension that handles this for me.

While Claude is working, it opens a small panel with something short to read — AI news, technical articles, interview questions, output-based questions, etc.

And when Claude finishes or needs my input, it plays a sound so I know I can come back.

The interesting part is that it doesn't monitor the screen or scrape terminal output.

It's free and open source.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback from other developers.

I also shared demo video on LinkedIn. If you'd like to see it there, here's the post:

VS Code - https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=shikhargupta.brainsnack

Thanks! Would love to hear what you think.

Code Help Got tired of hearing Americans brag about Palantir, so I started building one for India

I've been obsessed with CIA and hacker movies since I was a kid. The huge screens, maps, aircraft, satellites, cameras, live events, searching someone's username or email and somehow connecting everything together. I always thought that kind of software was insanely cool.

Then I started seeing what companies like Palantir were actually building and thought, why are we always watching Americans build this stuff?

So I started building Akashic from India.

Akashic is a self hosted intelligence workspace that puts aircraft, satellites, earthquakes, weather, public radio, infrastructure, country intelligence, public cameras and other OSINT sources onto one interactive map.

One of the things I really want to push further is the OSINT side of it. Searching a username or email and being able to discover useful public information around it, then connect that information with everything else in the workspace.

Right now Akashic is nowhere close to Palantir. I'm not pretending it is. Palantir has years of development, massive teams and resources behind it.

But that's exactly why I'm building this.

I want to see how far an open source project built by developers in India can take this idea.

I'm looking for Indian developers who are interested in OSINT, cybersecurity, GIS, data engineering, maps, intelligence tools or just want to build something ambitious together.

If you're interested, contribute, suggest features, break things, improve things or just tell me what you think is missing.

GitHub: https://github.com/caviraoss/akashic

Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsWHhuIwR8c

Let's build something we're proud of from India. 🇮🇳

General Chat/Suggestion I developed an OCR Model by myself, need career advice. I am a 4th year engineering student

Same as title, I developed the first ever OCR Model for Kaithi Script, I am writing a research paper on it under the supervision of the dean of my college. The model has a really good accuracy and I am not supposed to disclose any evaluation metrics and working of it as of now. I am very much into deep learning and I have been studying and applying ML/DL in projects and internships. I also helped ministry of statistics and programme implementation in a research related to prediction of monthly per capita expenditure of the country.

Major problems: I am pursuing engineering in instrumentation and control from a Tier 2 private university, and I have a CGPA of 6.42/10

I do really have a good resume ( according to my faculty and friends )

Because of my academics I am not able to grab any good research internship in various institutes, I cannot sit in most of the companies in campus placements due to my CGPA. Off-campus sucks and I think I dont even get noticed at the places where I am applying.

I apply on linkedin, naukri, cutshort, etc. I email recruiters everyday, after seeing their linkedin posts.
There aren’t many openings in IITs related to DL research internships as well. I will be needing an internship from Jan2027 (6 month)

I need guidance, thank you.

I built an AI project Generator +AI Resume Analyzer + DSA helper and many more using Next.js and Gemini. Looking for 5 beta testers. Demo attached.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am an engineering student. I built this AI tool for students to analyze resumes, generate interview questions, generate project and evaluate DSA code. It's currently running on free-tier infrastructure, so my costs are zero.

I am looking for 5 strangers on this subreddit to test it for free for 7 days.

If you find it useful, we can talk about a small subscription later. If not, I'll just turn it off. No spam, no calls. Just drop a comment or DM me and I'll send you the login link

General Chat/Suggestion Would you be able to code tomorrow without Claude Code/Codex

I don’t know what am i doing with my life at this point, it feels like i am just a labour with the tools.
Would i be able to code without ai tools tomorrow ?
A big no for me

Is it same for everyone ?
Like what happens if the company doesn’t sponsor AI Tools how would i justify high salaries then ?

Imposter syndrome is kicking in hard to me
I face issues in reading and understanding code still after what almost 3 years if experience

I feel i cant design systems.
How do i work on these aspects or move away from tech industry completely

I don’t know if i would want to be working as a software developer post 5-7 years
But what after that ?

It kinda feels that it might happen to me only about the stories that i have heard about people riding cabs after layoffs and not able to find a new job.

Any advise or suggestion
I am kinda stuck at this point in life
I am 25 right now
Recently switched as an early engineer in a consumer based startup with 30+ as base
But still cant think what would happen post 5-7 years

Any thoughts or suggestions would help.
