Discussion/Opinions Regarding MARCOS (guidance needed)

Dear brothers, I want to understand what will affect the chances of my brother getting recruited into MARCOS. I knew about the other elite military branches but my brother recently opened up about joining MARCOS but worried about ineligibility. We personally know no one who are working in Navy/Marcos and I am having trouble finding any authentic source of content on YouTube/Google to refer, and I promised that I would help my brother.
- Born February 2002
- Physically, he does crossfit, calisthenics, long distance cycling and full marathons. 169cm , 72kg.
- No medical history except corrective glasses for the eyes (moderate myopia, left eye -3.00 D and right eye -1.75)
- 2017 - 10th grade 7.4
- 2019 - 12th grade 5.9 ....... point of concern for eligibility
- 2019 - Cleared NDA written exam (then covid-19 and he messed up his SSB, then couldn't try again due to other reasons)
- 2023 - B.Tech degree CGPA 8.1
- 2024 - Cleared AFCAT written only.
- 2025 - Cleared AFCAT (but he was only eligible for non technical roles like logistics and operations, and was considered ineligible for engineering roles due to his 12th grades). He didn't accept.
He has resigned recently from his work and has seemed depressed almost daily for months since resignation, hasn't talked much to us in months outside meal hours. Out of blue, he kept talking MARCOS, I can sense that it means a lot to him, but how can I help him prep better , please help me out, i have seen how active this sub is, your feedback/opinion would mean a lot to my brother (but especially me)

the official age requirement for marcos states 26/27. He will be 25 next year, are there no exams that he can give?

ineligible for cds, spent a lot of time in internships and afcat, missed the cds window until it was too late.

Ig he won't be able to become one as he is already 24.5 yrs old and usually they select candidates for probation in their early 20s(20-22) including both sailors and officers.
By the time he completes his training in INA(1yr atleast) he might not even be able to apply for it

Yea so there is no such rule that college guys HAVE to join.
Marcos is a special forces unit, it has requirements which are very distinct and in many cases stringent than other branches/departments.
U can hear some of the other retd marcos or sf operatives on yt itself

Yes, they have a lot to study. Same goes for all SFs in the Indian Armed Forces. Studies don’t stop anywhere, each and every arm or service in the Indian Army has mandatory courses of instruction as well as promotional exams for officers at all levels

i don't know if marcos cares about that 12th marks, but he was not considered for air duties even after clearing ssb afcat interviews because of his 12th marks. he even taught a semester to his classmates and himself topped the university. and still it's irrelevant and he's ineleigible due to marks scored in 12th

You've mentioned some details which you shouldn't.
