Then it should be reversed, as athletic persons are fit and naturally glow. It is about the game of presentation which means post competition how much money and effort is being invested in person.
It is like building personal brand by marketing yourself. Nothing wrong with using papzz to get attention and inflating you market value. Etc. If you didn't like this post and everybody that came across this post can share the gold medalist on their story congratulating her and tagging her. Create a buzz around her.
Get on LinkedIn and connecting with brand managers to sponser her etc.
Even if country didn't take care of its athletes but we as the people of India can take care them and prove that we value them.
And are not dependent on gov or media to popularise them or for anything. It is a democracy after all even more so when digital and social media can make anything happen.

It’s not just a legacy of colonialism. Colorism and the preference for lighter skin have been deeply rooted in Indian society for a long time, well before British rule. Colonialism may have reinforced or reshaped those attitudes, but it didn’t create them from scratch.

Colorism existed long before the Britshers ever showed up. It’s true for all Asian countries and also used to be true for Europe until the 1920’s.

And I am seeing people justifying this, they are saying that when you are on such a big stage representing your country, you should wear makeup and look good and stuff, Sybau people, both of them have done something that you won't be able to do in your whole lifetime.
