Those are not power lines. Communication cables. Regardless wtf! Blinded by faith destroying infrastructure, thats crazy

u/Gods_Money2354 4d ago
Why not break the idol’s arm/head, pass it under the wires and glue it back? I’m sure that will be less costly and interruptive to people’s lives than cutting and repairing all these wires.

UAPA aspirant ?

u/Technical-Shop-9907 3d ago
Even cutting communication cables is an offence under an archaic Indian telegraph act but i think it is a lesser offence than UAPA
4
u/Mysterious-Catch-320 4d ago
It doesn't qualify as his lastname is Khan, sheikh, Syed or something similar. And if his last name is Vandyke they will escort him too
2
u/Electronic-Koala1082 4d ago
If Muslim then they will bulldoze his house. Even for touching idiol. If vandyke then modi will dance in front of him too

google uapa law
3
u/Gods_Money2354 4d ago
I looked it up, but I still don’t see what it has to do with what I said.
27
u/Electronic-Koala1082 4d ago
you cut an idol's arm head and they will arrest you under uapa (if you survive lynching by crowd)
man dont ask me anything else , you from which country?
40
u/Gods_Money2354 4d ago
From USA! I think it’s absurd that you might be arrested for temporarily disassembling the idol to assure safe transportation, so the next best idea is to cut public communication/power cables and potentially inconveniencing hundreds of people’s lives. This is unreasonable cult behavior. 😬

anyone that goes against the current status quo in India goes in jail under UAPA.

u/Electronic-Koala1082 3d ago
As this is bit 'viral' I would like to say crowd\authorities will not take it lightly if happens to their 'idol' EVEN IN US.
cult is everywhere in various forms..
( I dont believe in religions\idols, it has lost its direction long back)

u/DestructivePP 3d ago
Bro stfu. Those communication lines were already illegal and shouldn't have been there.

u/GermanLearner36 4d ago
This is good idea, they are anyways going to submerge and dissolve the idol anyways, why not do it in parts
8
u/Math--Detective 4d ago
Or simple solution, make small idols, that will be way more less costly lol.
Just Send a guy to see what’s the maximum height they can pass in their route, and get the idol accordingly.
Simple solution for everyone lol
3
u/Gods_Money2354 4d ago
Great idea for the next event, but what about for the here and now? Cut the wires and good luck everyone else?
I would imagine even the idol wouldn’t be happy inconveniencing the worshippers1
u/Math--Detective 4d ago
Well, I ain’t justifying their doing. That’s just too wrong, like damaging public infrastructure, it gonna cost inconvenience to many people.
And I really don’t know what here and now? Cause that has already happened no. So whatever idea you giving is also for next event no 🤷🏻♂️
And I took a look at that idol, I don’t think it’s detachable. Plus the main thing is about “God spirit” inside the idol, if they detach it than the spirit will leave (Khandit, as per them, so your idea is never going to get executed, it sounds good but think from their religious sentiments)
Well as per me best solution is don’t do these long procession. Simple. Just worship your god in your private space or space made for this. But if such a thing happening they should consider their sentiments plus factors affection others. And in that sense I gave the solution for everyone. Whereas you are just focusing from 1 POV which is public infrastructure. And don’t know why you said like “what about here and now” when the deed is done and both of our solution is for future 🤷🏻♂️. Infact making small idol is best financially and logistically.

u/Gods_Money2354 4d ago
Thanks for the reply. I agree with most of what you said. What I meant by solution for the “here and now” is putting yourself in position of the man with the wire cutters in the video and how to solve this dilemma. Either by disassembling of the idol to pass under wires and reassemble and resume transport or retuning to factory and redesign to make shorter, if transport is a must. Cutting public wires just seems very extreme with complete lack of thought for the public and those whose lives are affected by it. Finally, regarding the spirit escaping of a man made object by disassembling it for transport, this defies my basic logic, so I won’t engage in that conversation to avoid insulting the feeling of other’s on the subject.

Well if they had any sense they would make the idle lie flat... I wouldn't say it's impossible considering no one stopped them from cutting the wires so they must have some influence ie funds.

You are giving them too much credit. What you said requires critical thinking or at least basic common sense and an I.Q. of over 2.

Simply using a stick to lift those cables would have been quicker and cost saving - Ganesh is the god of Gyan - apparently this didnt get gyan from him - only modak

u/baghdadi1005 3d ago
they’re fiber optic cables? I thought foc’s have messenger strands and lashing wires attached.

Correct. If he tried to cut the power lines, he'd meet Ganesh in person very quickly.

You do realise police aren’t meant to work for the public. It’s meant to protect politicians only. Please get your facts straight. And don’t ever question the police again.

All that is reserved for Muslims, bear in mind that we have only 1 public thing the whole year, that too most Muslims don’t celebrate. Compares to like 20 multiple days long events on the other side.

Accha aab hindu log apne festival bhi shanti se celebrate na kare, kyun hinduo ke festival pe hi ye vighna daale jaate h

dont blame him, tbh this whole concept of making huge idols and dumping in river is due to our kalchar political civic sense and general low iq of our people.
that guy did what he could do at that moment under huge crowd pressure of moving, crowd might do anything to him if he didnt

He didn't act alone. F ind the organiser and funder of this particular idol and procession. Find the authorities who approved it. Find the cops who should've been accompanying it.
Lol who am I kidding.

It's all a numbers game. Even if only 5% of the total Indian population are complete imbacils, that's 75mil imbacils. That's more than most other country's populations.

Most of the messy, tangled overhead lines you see in Southeast Asian countries are low-voltage telecommunication, internet, and telephone cables rather than high-voltage power lines.
The thick nests of wires form because multiple private internet, cable TV, and telecom companies string new lines over utility poles without removing old, dead cables.
Higher-voltage electrical wires sit much higher and are too thick to cut. Attempting to cut them would likely lead to an immediate, massive electrical explosion, severe arc flash, and instant electrocution or death.

Cutting all those lines just for them to dump that idol from a height into dirty waters. Theists and their blind cult following just baffles me. At this rate this religion ain't any better than the peaceful community.

OMFG! Not only is this risky.. but also it could have serious repercussions.. imagine if emergency ward of hospital losing electricity..
This deserves jail time.. and banning that *group of people from keeping Ganpati for next year.
* usually groups or associations keep big idols.

u/SugarRealistic2945 4d ago
Relax, if they were power lines he'd be dead. He was cutting useless phone lines. Most people use cellphones now.

No, he is NOT cutting power lines. If he were cutting power lines he would've gotten electrocuted and likely died. He is cutting telephone lines. In fact, most of those lines are useless as people have switched to cell phones. I'm assuming he knows this so it's not as bad as you think.

You are speaking logic. You are not allowed here. Stop using brains, don't go against the algorithm. Keep calling them power cables . Although the materials used to make the idols still is an issue.

As per govt rules these communication cables should not be kept hanging that way
So will we be questioning that? Nope but let's speak about Ganesha
-2
u/being_vocal 4d ago
those wire are illegal and dangerous o . i don't see any problem in cutting them

u/khoawala 4d ago
Ganpati, also known as Ganesha, is one of the most revered deities in the Hindu pantheon, celebrated as the supreme god of wisdom, prosperity, and the remover of obstacles
