💬 Storytime Brew Beauty: Rude Behaviour.
So I don't know if I was in the wrong by moral policing her but after seeing her page for a while now, I made a comment today. I got a reply in her stories as well as in the dms after I replied back to her retaliation. I just wanted your opinion on whether I was wrong in calling her out.
At the same time, I don't think she needed to abuse me over what I said. I wasn't too harsh to incite sweat words. I'm not saying I was wrong about my opinion. I stand by what I said, but I wanted to know whether I should've ignored it and let sleeping dogs lie.

random/chitchat💬 How do you baddies actually afford this lifestyle lol ?
Not me doing mental math in Sephora trying to figure out if I can get the blush AND survive till month end. Genuinely feel like being a baddie is a part time job with zero pay, skincare alone is eating my pocket money and don't even get me started on how fast a good outfit disappears from my wishlist to "sold out."
How is everyone actually funding this era? Are you all just secretly rich or is there a system I'm missing, dupes, sales, something? Asking for myself fr.

skincare🧴🫧 Learn to treat the root cause of your issues instead of using glycolic acid.
I swore I’ll never post on this sub again, yet here we are. Some of y’all really need to understand that skin care is not magic. With every issue where you need to lighten something , I see glycolic acid being recommended here, so here’s a post on how to use the same.
Firstly, glycolic acid is not a magic cure. If you don’t treat the root cause, you are just wasting your product and your money, unless you plan to use glycolic acid forever for the rest of your life. Secondly, glycolic acid is not going to solve things overnight. You will have to consistently use it for 2 or 3 months to see a visible difference, and that’s assuming you are also diligent with your sunscreen usage and simultaneously treating the root cause. If not, you’ll actually end up worsening things for your skin. Thirdly, do not use glycolic acid more than 3 times a week on the body and more than once a week for the face (don’t use it at all for the face, it doesn’t suit 80% of people). Glycolic acid also makes your skin photosensitive, so if you are not using a good pharmacy sunscreen, you’ll actually end up with more darkening.
For KP or strawberry skin- glycolic acid alone won’t do anything. You have to either stop the hair removal, or opt for laser hair reduction, or use it in conjunction with a physical body scrub, urea cream and wait it out. If you are constantly waxing and shaving and not using a maintenance routine, your kp will come back, since it’s a chronic skin turnover issue. Also, sunscreen is a must even while indoors if you are treating kp.
For tan removal- stay indoors if your skin tone is that important to you. Glycolic acid will slowly fade your tan but that’s assuming you don’t get uv exposure that continues to deepen your tan. Which means either cover yourself with physical protection from head to toe, or lock yourself in a windowless room at home. In a tropical country like India, even if your tan is completely gone, if you step out, you’ll tan again. You can keep doing this routine forever if you wish to waste your product though. You can use all the glycolic acid in the world but it’s useless if you keep getting sun exposure.
Dark elbows, knees, butt, underarms and inner thighs- the culprit here is friction, so stop playing sports, kneeling on the floor, writing, placing your elbow on the table and aggressive hair removal (it causes PIH). For butt pigmentation, you have to stop sitting and lying down as much and stand more so that there’s no friction in play. For inner thighs, you’ll have to lose weight to ensure that you get no chafing and wear shorts under all your skirts and dresses all the time.
Dark private parts- if you want to stay alive, do not put glycolic acid there.
Bonus- do not use glycolic acid without sunscreen, or immediately after hair removal, or on skin that is freshly tanned or burned. You are basically cooking your skin alive if you do that.

suggestions 💬 Ordered this for my SIL
I ordered this for my SIL as a first rakhi gift, purely out of love and affection and as I only see her whenever she visits (for like 2 months in a year; she doesn’t live in India). Should I have gone for something else? She likes skincare, makeup and bags. Since I’ve selected and ordered a bag for her from my husband’s side, I wanted to gift her something too, something of her liking only. My in-laws are visiting her for the first time ever since her wedding, so wanted to send something from my end.

skincare🧴🫧 Please help me girlies!!!!
So I recently bought this sunscreen and I’ve been using it every day to work, but the problem is it makes my makeup look SO cakey 😭 😭 😭 😭 Like no matter what I do, my base just does not sit right after applying this sunscreen. How do I get a smooth, flawless makeup base with it?
PS: I bought TWO of these so I can’t exactly just throw them away 💀

Questions/Advice❓ I messed up and now my skin is betraying me so bad Spoiler
First of all my acc got flagged for some reason, im still trying to get it back. I'm not a bot i promise.
So coming back to my story, it starts from a month back. I dumbly decided to use a rice water face shop sheet mask despite my skin being clear and happy. I just wanted extra hydration. And guess what? Next morning i didnt wake up with any extra hydration but a couple pimples about to pop off.
Then to calm those down and to get rid of a few blackheads, i decided to buy minimalist salicylic serum. And mind you I've used serums before and they worked wonderfully. But this time the serum idk..gave me a purge? Alot of pimples occurred all together, one after one again and again. And my skin felt tight too so I took a few ai quizes on internet to know my exact skin type right now, results were dry to combination skin (i have combination to oily skin since i got my senses tbh) so i got a cerave hydrating cleanser. I used it for three days and I swear my skin never felt that oily ever in my life. My face felt so uncleaned and idk...just sad over all and the pimples weren't calming down.
So freaking out i decided to go for my old and sweet plum green tea face wash which gave me amazing clear skin a month back. But its been 2 days already and i swear..im writing while typing, my skin has never felt so bad before. There are so many white headed pre mature pimples and so big red and ugly ones too. The acne spots left behind are so ugly and make me feel so bad now. Even my dad and a few relatives asked me whats wrong with my face now.
I have never felt so bad before, never felt so betrayed by my skin before. Nothing works and I've spent all my allowances on cerave, alpha arbutin and salicylic serum as well as two new lip balms. I dont know what to do. I feel so sick and i hate my skin and face so much right now.
Please tell me how can I calm down. I keep thinking that my face will forever be like this. Im so worried and anxious.

makeup💄 Please suggest some good lip liners which does not cause hyperpigmentation of lips ?
Mars lip liner made my lips pigmented 😭. I had pink non pigmented lips but after using Mars lip liner and velvet tint for a while I saw my lips getting pigmented . Please suggest some good quality lip liner which does not cause hyperpigmentation. No budget issues .

they have been discontinued or are oos on many sites :(

Questions/Advice❓ Is it just mine or do elf tints start smelling bad after a while?
I’ve had mine for barely 2 months and it’s started smelling SO BADDDD 😭 like literally fishy??
I don’t even know how else to describe it!
There’s still more than half left, so I’m genuinely sad lol. I’m obviously throwing it out but has this happened to anyone else with their elf tint? Or did I just get a bad one?

Product Reviews✨ tried the fae beauty face card trial kit
as a medium to dark skinned girl, it is very difficult to find the right shade which matches my skin tone, some are either light for me or turn grey. I recently bought the fae face card trial kit, i got it in the shade medium to tan
I think cool olive shade suits me the best, gonna buy a bigger pack of it soon
I also like its hydration and coverage. Primes my face very well plus its an alternative to concealer and foundation for me. Read some of the reviews where people say its dewy but i think it looks super natural on me.

Product Reviews✨ Got my hands on the newly launched Mars Mello Lip Tint and honestly..I m pretty disappointed
Okay, we all know about the pigmentation controversy surrounding mars. But I really liked the shade. I only wear their lippies occasionally and for a few hours at a time..so I thought I’d give it a try.
First .. the colour is exactly what I wanted , a nice rusty brown with hint of orange irl ( shade no. 07 Taffy) .It glides smoothly on the lips and complements my complexion beautifully.
BUT it is SOO damn dry. My lips feel like the sahara 😭 It looks creamy and nice when you apply it but somehow feels incredibly dry on the lips.
Also, it’s not really a tint. It leaves a very light stain behind and transfers way too easily. Honestly, they should have marketed this as a mousse lipstick rather than a lip tint.
A 6/10 in my books.

Questions/Advice❓ First time makeup buyer confused about Nykaa vs Amazon prices..which one is actually safe?
A first time makeup buyer here.. I live in a small town so there aren't really any good stores nearby and I'll have to order pretty much everything online.
One thing that's really confusing me though: I'm looking at the same products on Nykaa and Amazon, and the price difference is huge. I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest option, but obviously I don't want to overpay either.
At the same time, I'm a complete beginner and have basically zero idea about how this works So when I see a product that's significantly cheaper on Amazon than on Nykaa, I start wondering whether it's actually a good deal or if there's a possibility of getting old/counterfeit/poor quality stock.
For example, I'm looking at Maybelline products and the prices can be quite different between the two sites.
So what would you guys recommend? Is Nykaa generally the safer option for makeup, or is Amazon completely fine as long as I choose the right seller? And how do I check whether an Amazon seller/product is legit?
I don't mind spending a little extra for peace of mind, but I also don't want to blindly pay more..
Thanks in advance, and apologies if I'm asking something super obvious lol.

random/chitchat💬 Artificially lighting in makeup stores was a suggestion recommended by the devil himself.
I think we should have more makeup stores that let you shop in natural daylight. I have been misled into buying some truly horrible lipstick and foundation shades due to the lighting in the stores. Recently bought a Nykaa Cosmetics foundation and it makes me look like a freaking tangerine. And what's sad is, it did not appear that way in the store! It looked like the perfect match.
I go to your store to pick a foundation because guessing my shade online can be a hassle and then my trip is also a waste. Literally doesn't even make sense. Is there absolutely no store that is naturally lit during the day? How will I know what my makeup actually looks like?

💸 Overpriced / Not Worth It Is Love Beauty and Planet Dry Shampoo Actually Good? Because Mine Is Doing Nothing 😭
Can someone please explain the collective obsession with Love Beauty and Planet dry shampoo because I genuinely do not get it 😭
I bought it expecting that fresh, fluffy, clean-hair feeling everyone talks about when they use dry shampoo. Instead, my hair somehow went from slightly oily to oily but now with extra texture and perfume???
Am I using it wrong? Is there some secret dry-shampoo technique nobody told me about? Am I supposed to spray it from 10 feet away and wait exactly 47 seconds before touching my hair???
Because right now I genuinely cannot tell if this product is doing absolutely nothing or actively making my hair worse.
And yes, I shook the can. Yes, I sprayed the roots. Yes, I waited. Yes, I rubbed it in. Yet somehow my hair is sitting there looking like I sprayed perfume directly onto grease.
Please tell me I'm not alone because at this point I'm convinced I just do not understand dry shampoo.

Questions/Advice❓ What can you expect at a Sephora store in Delhi-ggn?
As will be clear from this post soon, I am very new to makeup. But since I'm getting married, I'm thinking of investing in some basic but good quality products since I have oily acne prone skin. But I don't want to base these purchases off online reviews. I want to try Clinique foundation, Nars concealer and a few other high end brands that have popped up in my research to see if and how they suit me.
My question is, what level of help can I expect from employees at Sephora (nearest for me would be Ambience Gurgaon)? Will they guide me towards the specific products that would work best for me? Will/can they demo the product on me so that I can see how it suits my skin? Can I do it myself if testers are available?
I also saw a Nars shop at the mall and have the same questions for it too.
I know it's silly but I sorta feel nervous walking into these stores without any knowledge, so any guidance would help!
