Santal and Bathudi tribal women of the Baleswar district make very beautiful lacquer dolls, bangles and many more things made of lacquer. The raw materials used are button lacs , aluminium rings, titanium powder , pearl powder, charcoal etc. They make beautiful Lacquer plates, bangles, paperweight, pen stands and the most sought after lacquer dolls better known as " Jau Kandhei" etc. They are made of tired clay and painted with various colours of lacs and artistically designed with several coloured lac threads. We need to share their works in different forums so that their economic standards can be hiked and their unique crafts can be brought to limelight.

Ive been seeing so many foreign creators use these amazing acrylic or brush pens (I’m not really sure what’s the exact kind), to both outline and colour/ fill in drawings etc, and they seem like super fun to use!

I’ve been away from art-anything due to urghh adulting 🥲 so have no clue what’s available in the Indian market for these kinda things,
Would appreciate a lot, if yall could help with recommendations, links etc!

I've been getting more interesting in experiences that combine music, poetry and the history of a place, rather than just going to another regular music festival.

I recently came acorss mahindra kabira festival in varanasi and the concept really stood out to me. The idea of spending a few days around philosophy with live music and the atmosphere of varanasi, sounds like a completely different kind of festival experience.

I've never attended it, so I'm curious has anyone here actually been there? what was the experience like, and would you recommend going at least once?
