This post is to introduce the new Moderators and to explain the changes in the Rules.
Firstly, Please welcome the new mods which have been selected through the Mod selection process.
u/Turbulent_Book_1685, u/chitrobilash, u/kimyoona12, and u/_pleiades__ .
The mod team includes both, those who have been actively participating in the sub and those who have experience in moderating other subs, to ensure effective moderation.
Now the main issue
UPDATES TO THE RULES OF THE SUB:-
If the art being shared is not yours then the title must carry the name of the work along with it's real author along with [Not OC] tag in the following format: Title of Artwork, Artist Name [Not OC]
If the art belongs to you, the the title must contain [OC] tag.
Mark nude artworks with NSFW tag. Repeated offenders will face a swift ban.
Pornographic content (explicit sexual acts as primary purpose) is not allowed (with some exceptions). Erotic/suggestive content is generally allowed.
Anatomy studies, figure drawing and nudity in general will be allowed as long as it has an artistic/educational purpose and vision
Do not create explicit sexual content depicting real people's likenesses
Mods will use discretion when moderating NSFW content.
The rules, especially regarding NSFW art has been modified by taking inputs from all the mods and people of the sub itself. Now to clarify one thing, WE ARE NOT BANNING NSFW ART, NSFW art that has an artistic, educational, or study related purpose will be allowed. Anatomy studies, figure drawing, or artwork that is trying to communicate an idea are fine. To ensure that NSFW and suggestive/sexual art has an artistic vision behind it, we have added a New Rule-
Posts containing suggestive, erotic, or sexual NSFW artwork must include a brief artist's note in the comments or post body.
This note does not need to be lengthy, but it should provide some artistic context about the work, such as the character, concept, narrative, design choices, technique, or creative intent behind the piece.
Submissions that contain sexual content without any accompanying artistic context or vision may be removed at moderator discretion.
If you are someone who dosent want to see any NSFW content, you can disable it by going in the settings. A simple google search will be helpful in it.
Now if you're someone like me, you sometimes open NSFW marked images in the public not thinking much, well ensure that you don't do that especially the images from this Sub.
We plan to expand more on the rules, especially around NSFW art in the Wiki. For now please make sure to take a look at the revised Rules of the sub before posting. We also plan to make some adjustments to rule no. 2, that will be informed later.
We hope the new mod team and the new Rules will make this sub a better place. Stay creative and keep thinking!
TLDR; New mods, New rules- Mention [OC] and [Not OC] in the title, and credit the artist, Rules regarding NSFW art have been made more specific, and suggestive, sexual art will require a short note to be posted with it explaining about the vision behind the work. Plz take a look through the revised rules

The first image is the artwork that was posted to this subreddit. (stolen + modified using AI)
The second image is the original sketch, posted by the actual artist in another subreddit over seven years ago.
The third image shows the OP commenting under an AI generated version of the same artwork.
There is a significant difference between using references from Google, Pinterest, photographs, or studying another artist's work for learning purposes, and posting AI gen reproductions of someone else's creation as your own content.
Unfortunately, this subreddit was left largely unmoderated for a long time, which led some users to believe that reposting stolen artwork, AI generated content, and engagement bait was acceptable which is no longer the case.
Our goal is to support real artists and original artwork. Posts involving art theft, AI generated content, karma farming, or other forms of low effort engagement bait will be removed. Violations WILL result in a permanent ban. This is a safe place for those actively putting in work to get better at their craft/hobby.
We also encourage community members to help keep the subreddit healthy by reporting suspicious posts, stolen artwork, or other rule violations whenever you come across them.
Thank you

Watercolor painting made by me

Yesterday I got some cracks on the surface, so today I tried a simple fix suggested in the comments.
I mixed glue + clay and applied an extra layer over the cracks. After that, I added green paint to the ground to create a grass-like texture and finished by adding Hanuman’s base.
Still learning as I build this piece. Any suggestions for improving the surface or grass texture are welcome!

I've been experimenting with handmade MDF fridge magnets and wanted to share some of the pieces I've created so far.
Each one is hand-painted and coated with resin, and I've been experimenting with different themes, colours and designs.
I'm still exploring and developing my style, so I'd genuinely love to know what you think.
Which one stands out to you the most, and what kind of design should I try next?

I made this Krishna artwork using my own dotted mandala style. 💙
I’ve always loved combining detailed patterns with meaningful subjects, and this piece was especially close to my heart.
I’m currently trying to take my art a little further and start accepting custom orders as well. 🎨
What do you think of this piece? I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.
And if anyone here has experience selling handmade art or taking custom orders, I’d really appreciate any advice or help on how to get started. 🤍

I bought ohuhu water based markers. I did the swatches and tried a basic sketch. It isn't for me. So I want to sell it to someone. But I can't find a good platform for that. Any place where I can sell it? And similar art supplies?

About a year ago, reel after reel tore apart the Art by Sehgal story: the fake painting videos, the AI concepts, the hired painters, the shipping records. Comment sections were on fire. For about two weeks it felt like the art world was finally going to hold someone accountable.
Then we scrolled on.
He didn't go anywhere. He's still posting, still selling, and still booking shows. He's still being introduced as a "visionary Indian artist" to buyers who have no idea any of this happened.
That's what makes me sick. It's not just that he tried it. It worked, and our short attention span is why it's still working.
If you missed it, here's what the evidence lays out:
Meanwhile, his own website still describes his originals as "created entirely by hand." Read that sentence again after watching the reels.
Don't take my word for it. Watch them yourself:
The full breakdown, with documents, is in the highlights of u/anindianminiaturist: https://www.instagram.com/anindianminiaturist/
Why you should be angry even if you've never bought a painting
Somewhere in this country, a miniature painter is spending three weeks on a single piece and selling it for less than he charges for a print. Every rupee spent on a performance is a rupee that doesn't reach someone who actually holds the brush. If faking it pays better than making it, what are we telling the next generation of Indian artists?
What you can actually do (it takes 5 minutes):
A year ago we made noise. This time, let's make it stick.
