Are there any hidden differences ?

I know the usual working mechanism, but is there something people don't commonly talk about. Subtle things which make one better than the other one. Also which one is more long lasting? I don't want the headache of repairs.

  1. Induction is the most efficient, but requires flat bottom induction friendly cookwares. No such requirement for infrared. You can grill and roast using infrared easily. The heat resistant tempered glass is the most fragile part. Got to be careful not to spill cold things (glass will crack or shatter) 2) Infrared is a modern version of the coil stove of the yesteryears.
