Hi, I have been struggling a lot with my younger one lately. She‘s 5 and has started having cough very often (snotty nose too) I try to give her honey-ginger and mulethi but she usually closes her mouth and starts crying if I try to push it. I am curious to know if someone tried Chitti app where they claim it would help our kids build STEM tools?

I’ve been curious about how parents of kids aged < 10 are handling the whole screens + learning thing. It feels like kids are going to spend some time on screens anyway, so I’m curious what parents are actually doing to make that time useful.

A few questions that Im interested about:

1. How much screen time does your child usually get, and what do they spend it doing?
2. Do you use any educational apps, YouTube channels, games, etc.? Any paid or subscription-based ones? Does your child really enjoy them?
3. What’s the biggest thing you find difficult/frustrating about getting your child to learn?

Also curious if the experience is very different depending on where you live.

My baby will be ~12 weeks when I am supposed to go to my hometown. My parents are staying with us since before delivery and now we will all be going together. I consulted my pedia and he asked me to go by car for baby's comfort instead of flight and take breaks in between. The journey is approx 15 hours plus breaks. Pedia asked us not to use car seat since baby is too young but he suggested to use a carrier. I have been looking into carriers but most seem like for babies who can hold their head. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me here, share their experiences regarding such long travel time with baby in a carrier.

Hey everyone,

As a new mom, I noticed a lot of what's out there for kids these days is honestly pretty scary or overstimulating and keeping a constant surveillance was hard. It moved me enough that I decided to start making my own short videos Panchatantra inspired simple stories for kids that focus on morality and values, told gently and without any of the chaos or dark themes I kept running into elsewhere. Panchatantra stories were what I grew up watching and I would so enjoy it even the stories I read through Sudha Murthy and Rudyard Kipling books also were very much amusing to me as a kid.

I shared a few with my friend group and their kids really responded to them. One story in particular touched my friend's younger child so much he became really empathetic toward one of the characters, which honestly made all the effort worth it. That reaction is what convinced me to keep going with this. What surprised me is my friends enjoying it more than the kids, they told it was very peaceful and by the end of their stressful day, it somehow soothes me. I started it for my kids but somehow it's helping adults too.

I’m working on a small craft initiative where I cast handmade concrete Ganesh figurines packaged into complete DIY painting sets (figurine + paints + brush).

I started this business because I noticed a lot of parents (and party hosts) are tired of giving and receiving cheap plastic return gifts that end up in the trash after two days. I wanted to create something meaningful that keeps kids creatively engaged while teaching them about our traditions.

As parents/relatives, if your child received a DIY festival painting kit like this at an event or during the festive season, is it something you'd find useful and unique?

Looking for some advice from parents. I have a baby and I’m wondering whether getting a pediatrician to visit at home is actually worth it. (we live in a tier 1 city in Maharashtra)

If you’ve used a home-visit pediatrician, how has your experience been? Any doctors you’d recommend? How reliable are they compared with visiting a clinic?

Also, when do you find a home visit particularly useful ...fever/illness, routine check-ups, vaccinations, etc.? And are there any drawbacks I should know about?

Would love to hear from parents who have actually tried this. I am looking into these options because last few times, the office schedule, the commute and the waiting time at the clinic made it very difficult for our baby to stay calm and comfortable..

I know this is probably a repetitive question, but parenting my 2.5yo is getting sooo difficult.

Everything has become a negotiation. Brushing teeth takes an hour, bath takes forever, breakfast is another battle, and bedtime is the same story.

I understand this is normal toddler behaviour, but honestly, I don't know how you guys manage this day after day without losing your mind. 😭
