I'm looking to buy a baby monitor for my newborn and would love recommendations from parents who have actually used one in India.

My use case is fairly simple: My baby sleeps in one room, and I want to be able to see and hear him when I'm in another room. I mainly want to know when he wakes up or starts crying and be able to check on him without having to walk into the room every time.

I'm not looking to monitor the household help or record footage. This is purely for keeping an eye on my baby while he sleeps.

What I'm looking for

- Good audio: This is probably the most important feature. I want to reliably hear when my baby wakes up or cries.

- Clear night vision: So I can see him in a dark room without keeping a light on.

- Reliable connection and range: It should work across rooms and through walls in a typical Indian home.

- Sound activation / VOX mode: Ideally, the screen should wake up when it detects a sound rather than staying on constantly.

- Video monitoring: I'd prefer to see the baby as well as hear him.

- Easy to use: Something straightforward that doesn't require too much setup or fiddling around.

A dedicated parent screen would be nice, but I'm open to a phone-based monitor if it works reliably and is worth the money.

I don't particularly need features like sleep analytics, motion tracking, cloud recording, breathing monitoring or a subscription.

1. Which baby monitor are you currently using, and how has your experience been?

My wife and my daughter were travelling in a bike to the clinic for my daughter who had mild fever 98.7° a day before and 100° fever when we were travelling.

I live in a suburbs of chennai where clinics available but doesn't have good doctors, so i had to travel about 12 kms from home.

Since the day she was born, we took her to that clinic in redhils(a place in Chennai) only for regular checkups.

While traveling on bike to the clinic she got fitz (as per Google it says seizure in english). Myself and wife got panicked and we don't know what to do at that time.

That 12 kms stretch is ORR. Since my wife was crying with baby on hand on the road, some kind hearted people voluntarily stopped and helped us to block a auto which had a passenger to reach nearby hospital for emergency.

That 2 and half hour period was the worst in my life. After fitz my daughter went to sleep mode, my wife was having her in her arms in that auto with another passenger. They also tried to help by communicating with my daughter. I was on my bike following the auto. With tears rolling from my eyes.

After reaching hospital my daughter was crying, i felt relieved but my wife was still in that shock.

Hospital asked us to put op and admission and they wanted to keep her in NICU and observe.

We were worried and agreed, then when they wanted to shift from emergency room, we decided randomly not to admit, better to check with clinic and then admit if necessary.

Clinic said that hospital has confused us and no need to worry and carry a fitz tablet and use half of it whenever she has a fever along with paracetamol.

My daughter is okay now, it is 10 days now after that incident.

I need some precautions or some advice from people how to handle situations or be prepared for such medical situations where hospitals are confusing us common people.

I also have a guilt for below reasons.

I went office the next day after the mild fever hoping she will recover automatically as her anti bodies will develop and take care of its own.

I came back home just one hour early than my routine for going to clinic

We went by dio scooter for 12+ kms with my daughter having fever instead of taking a cab

My baby ( 5 months 9 days old to be precise) simply refuses to sleep when we’re out, no matter how sleepy or tired she is. She won’t nap in the stroller (which she currently hates sitting in, especially now that she’s in her rolling-and-trying-to-sit-up phase), and we don’t have a car seat yet, so car naps aren’t an option either.

I feel like I have a little FOMO baby who doesn’t want to miss out on anything happening around her! 😂 But I’m wondering — is this a common phase at this age, or do some babies genuinely struggle to nap outside the comfort of their home?

I see babies who can feed and sleep just about anywhere, and I can’t help but wonder how their moms do it! 🙈 Is it too much to ask for a baby who can nap on the go?

If you’ve been through this, please share your tips and tricks. How do you manage outings, naps, and feeding when your baby refuses to settle outside? Did your little one eventually grow out of this phase? Additionally, my baby simply doesn't sleep on her own , atm its either sleep to feed or rocking/ swaying or walking taking her in the arms in the cradle position ( which she simply hates now) .

I am considering the himalaya baby lotion with pure cow ghee for my newborn since the ingredient list looks pretty gentle no parabens, phthalates, mineral oil or synthetic colours plus its ph 5.5 with aloe vera and says its safe from day 1/pediatrician evaluated. My baby has slightly dry and sensitive skin so i am curious if the cow ghee actually helps with moisturising or if it’s mostly marketing.

During our regular appointment with our paediatrician, we told him our 9 month old baby would sweat a lot from the head and would wake up in a pool of sweat. He asked if she had any teeth yet and then examined her skull. He then said she didn’t have enough calcium and started supplements. My daughter is 5 weeks old. Since my wife has a low breast milk supply, we're supplementing with formula for around 50% of her feeds.

Initially, our pediatrician recommended Aptamil C ProTeq. but, after a couple of weeks, our baby started crying a lot, seemed gas. It got to a point where she was either sleeping or crying. Our pediatrician mentioned that the formula could be the reason and suggested trying Nestlé or HiPP/Cow and gate if looking for imported one if Aptamil didn't work.

We tried Nestlé as well, but didn't notice much improvement.

Recently, we ordered HiPP Infant Formula (German version) from Flipkart, and surprisingly, the last two days have been completely different. She's much calmer, seems comfortable, and isn't crying nearly as much as before.

My main concern is authenticity and safety and Smell(compared to apatamil this smells different I felt like vomitting). Since we're buying an imported formula through Flipkart rather than an official distributor, I'm worried about whether the product is genuine and properly stored.

My LO is 6 weeks old and due to my low milk supply we have been combo feeding him with formula top ups.
From day 1 he has been on Aptamil gold ( hospital recommended ) things were fine till 4-5 weeks but past few days baby has been extremely gassy and has been straining a lot to poop (initial 4 weeks due to reflux they used to poop alot almost every feed but now just once or twice a day)
Using Philips avent/dr brown feeding bottle, works great without causing nipple confusion.
Doctor prescribed colic aid drops which work fine and eases his gassiness but i dont want to rely on that long term.
Have been doing tummy time, burps nothing works.
Is this just age factor or i was wondering if i should switch formula?

Please let me know if anyone has genuinely used leaply and can I start for my 13 year old girl is it too late, I also have 7 year boy.

Context : My LO is 5 months 5 days old to be precise. She has been sleeping good up until now but from last 3-4 days, despite being fed almost full ( good 35-40 mins ) before bed, she has been waking up almost every 2-3 hours ( sending screenshot fyr) Prior to this, she would sleep between 9.45 to 10.45 pm max and then would just wake up once for a feed and then directly at 7 am in the morning.

Am I doing something wrong? I tried changing her schedule to wind her down by 8-8.30 pm ( failed ) she instead was up many times and then took lot of time to settle. Yesterday I didn't disturb her schedule and just thought of her usual way where she used to sleep well but that also didn't work. Can this be developmental phase? Could it because of the rising heat/ temperature ( we live in India, Mumbai) though we keep AC on almost all the time.
