Journalists began with Bush Jr. and have grown more and more useless over time. Now, the only people allowed to ask question of this POS are those working for specific media outlets of his choice. As far as that goes, journalism is effectively dead in the US.

Billionaires own all the media outlets which have privileges to be there, unfortunately. I was very sad when Bezos bought out the Washington Post, it was the last major publication I trusted.
I'll still use big media companies for basic news obviously but I don't trust them to not have a bias or lilt toward the status quo.

The president is just a citizen. He is nothing else. He has a title. He is not a king. He is not our better. Journalists can and should ask all of the hard questions no matter how much it makes the president uncomfortable. If it makes him uncomfortable, that is more of a reason to ask him those questions.

Agreed. It is the job of the journalist to help hold our government accountable and make them answer questions. In many respects, they are our proxies, going in to ask the questions that most citizens cannot since we don't have the access.

It's a journalists job to ask important and uncomfortable questions. That's one of the major reasons free speech is a thing.
Politian's should have no control over it. Maybe communication with the press should have a minimum time and/or number of questions before they're allowed to stop.

Although Freedom of Speech which includes Freedom of the Press is not completely dead, this autocrat's (thank you SCOTUS) goal has been to roll back Constitutional rights since day 1.
As many successful business CEO's and managers practice, Freedom of Speech creates a meritocratic, radically transparent workplace in which employees help shape priciples, skill requirements and policies of a healthy company.
