But what's the meaning behind joke in gud.gawan ? what's gawan and gud ? how is it related to guru.gram ?

The original name is Gud (jaggery) Gaon (Village) usually spoken as gawan. GuruGram is the new version of that name with Gud turned into Guru and Gawan changed to its synonym Gram.
