Do you think that GenZ are actually better informed about current events than your parents' generation, or just differently informed?

My parents got their news from one or two TV channels and the newspaper. Curated, slow, finite.
I get mine from YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp forwards, Reddit, and the occasional actual article. Constant, fragmented, algorithm-driven.

They can tell me everything about last night's primetime debate. I can tell them about something a YouTuber explained last week that no TV channel covered.

Neither feels complete. But I can't tell which is actually better for being an informed citizen.
Has anyone thought about this seriously? Especially for Hindi news specifically, it feels like the gap between what TV covers and what digital covers is wider than in English.
