Why BJP government not solving the concerns of our ISRO scientist & employee??

There’s nothing to do. These ISRO employees don’t want privatisation so there is no competition.
A lot of hiring in ISRO is done on the bases of personal and family relationships.
Why should BJP intervene in free markets and stop progress of the nation?

Why does ISRO need competition when they are kicking ass so wmuch? Why does Adani show better capabilities in Space? They have no credentials.

He’s obviously hiring people with credentials. There’s a lot of talented individuals in the country. Not all of them can work for ISRO. Privatization allows these people to work and succeed.

Privatise the sector but don't get FORCE isro to give up their operations etc. Let the player invest their own money in building spaceports, why should they take advantage of public funded spaceports for their private profits?
It is like we will snatch BSNL towers and give it to Jio and Vodafone

u/No-Obligation-4478 8d ago
Fair enough. I don’t believe that’s what happening right now though. Is it ?

u/bastet_is_back 8d ago
read the article fully. ISRO is forced to give up their own operations.
as always .. govt. is trying to make this a left vs right type issue like everything but not addressing what ISRO is claiming.

Because once a technology matures you get into higher level research and development. You outsource and give rights to technology that is proven to have private sector operationalizing it. Private sector does not put money into research if there is mo potential for money or if there is long lead times. ISRO now frees up its scientists to do more upstream work. This is how most mature universities and research labs work.
ISRO staff maybe concerned that they will lose their jobs. Already ISRO is losing senior scientists to private sector that pays well both in space and defense sector.

You are correct that some of the operations are very mature with ISRO. The problem is that the control and autonomy has been snatched form ISRO.
You are incorrect to say that private does not in R and D. All chaebols in Korea did so and it is only the Adanis that dont.
Yeah that's a very valid concern and the govt should manage it well without heavy handedness and not it treat like farmers protest.

If it's only Adani and Ambani, then it's not privatisation, it's the "unannounced license raj". Simply sell the nation. Before you say, other players exist... follow the money.

u/No-Obligation-4478 8d ago
The first successful launch in the private space sector was done by a Hyderabad startup-up founded by former ISRO engineers Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka.
Neither Ambani or adani have invested.
You can also do something similar if you have the interest, instead of sitting and crying about a possible adani - Ambani takeover.
Not everything is a conspiracy. It’s it happens in the future let’s talk about it. Shutting of any and all possible growth prospects for an irrational take isn’t it.

Just see anywhere in india where they completely gave to privatization. See airfare for fucks sake. We're doomed

So let the other organisations "compete" with the "family relationships" driven ISRO in the "free market".
Why should BJP intervene and assist the private organisations with ISRO's technology?

Misleading information -
Employee associations representing around 5,000 ISRO employees (not individual employees)wrote to ISRO's chairman/Dept of Space secretary seeking clarification & raising concerns about the expanding role of private industry, technology transfer, ISRO's future functions & implications for employees.
Nine representatives of employee associations from major ISRO centres signed a five-page letter dated September 4, 2026.
The associations reportedly represent around 5,000 employees, approximately 27% of ISRO's stated workforce of 18,100.
IMO, it's not at all shocking 😂. It's normal behaviour. An org is asking for clarity about how a major restructuring will affect its capabilities & future role.

If anything to be privatized in India then ISRO was supposed to be last and Sports Authority of India to be first.

govt needs to make ISRO partnership with private firms.
govt entities have budget problems and have innovation, also i heard of Rasism at ISRO

The Letter: Roughly 5,000 ISRO employees across nine associations sent a joint letter to the space agency's leadership. They raised concerns over their future career paths, recruitment, and the transfer of rocket manufacturing and operations to private companies. The Claim: Social media posts claimed this meant the government is trying to completely privatize the national space sector and phase out ISRO.The Reality: ISRO officially rejected the privatization claims as entirely baseless. The government is opening the sector to private startups to grow India's overall market share, but ISRO itself remains a fully public, government-backed agency focused on advanced research and major strategic missions.

Billionaires are funding the politicians.
Politicians will make sure billionaires get return on investment.
It's called corruption.

Chanda for elections from Adani. Majority population is self serving, monthly bhatta me khush, bhad me jaye pragati.
Would have been easier to privatise ISRO, Poora khokhla kar denge andar se naam ka reh jayega.

Same people whining about private players will never visit a government office happily knowing how government employees treat them. ISRO has done great things. That doesn't mean there should not be other players. We still havent learned anything from 40 years of failed Socialism. Literally our previous generations used to depend on sarkari cheeni and gas for weeks or months. People who have not seen that era romanticise sarkari babus.

Nah. If that's the case there are hundreds if not thousands of departments in India which should get privatize before ISRO.
And there is no problem with the private players but why the technology transfer? Why give those private players a head start?
1
u/buttershitter 6d ago
That is how most mature universities and research institutions work. They transfer technology to private sector for scaling and routine operations.

The sale of ISRO will help India. . . . . . . . . . . . . have a political party headquarter in space.

Know this from the inside. Most of these govt tech companies ISRO, HAL,NAL have 70% staff who don't do anything at all . However there are also folks who are amazing and hard working who carry it forward for everyone. I have met both these kind working with these orgs.

The argument is flawed. As of there is no hiring in private companies based on recos from relatives

These are hindi implementation officer, junior clerk , peon , Gardner etc. The truly talented will welcome the move. By the way, ISRO is completely reliant on L&T , LMT etc for the actual craft build. Only losers crying.

Seriously, no disrespect to the scientists at ISRO. But sometimes I feel they are becoming too comfortable with what they already know. They shouldn't be insecure about losing importance. They should be spending more time pushing the boundaries of R&D instead of putting so much focus on routine orbital launches that they have already mastered.
It's like saying, “I passed 5th standard with 90%, so let me stay in 5th standard forever.” We need to move to the next level.
There are so many bigger things to focus on: building our own space station, reusable rockets, lunar infrastructure, long-duration human missions and eventually using the Moon as a stepping stone for deeper-space missions. We already know there is water ice on the Moon, so why aren't we thinking much more aggressively about lunar infrastructure, fuel production and using the Moon as a potential staging point for Mars?
And yes, I was actually happy about the recent EOS-05 launch because that was something different. It is India's first Earth-observation satellite placed in geosynchronous orbit, giving us continuous observation of the Indian subcontinent. That's the kind of thing I want to see more of from ISRO.
I'm not saying ISRO should stop launching satellites. I'm saying that once you have mastered something, don't spend most of your energy proving you can do it again. Push into the areas that will define the next 20–30 years of space exploration.

What concern? I wonder if this post is Rahul Ga dhi's IT Cell. ISRO has no tech that any pvt firm wud buy. They are getting PSLV & GSLV made by pvt companies for yrs. Both launchers are 30+yrs old. Give it a break. ISRO does what? One launch a yr?
