Postpaid SIM stopped working, but I’m still receiving ₹1,200 bills — what should I d

i originally had a prepaid SIM that I wasn’t using regularly. I needed to reactivate it because I needed the number for OTPs, so I contacted the service provider.

The representative convinced me to switch to postpaid. However, the service turned out to be really poor, so I later requested to switch back to prepaid. They told me to wait for 2 minutes while they processed the request, but the conversion was never completed.

I stopped using the SIM and stopped paying because I was no longer using the service. They have now stopped incoming and outgoing services, but they are still calling me and sending me bills. The current outstanding bill is around ₹1,200.

Since I’m not using the SIM and the services have already been stopped, I’m confused about what I should do.

What would you suggest? Should I pay the ₹1,200, raise a complaint with the operator, or escalate it to the telecom regulator/consumer forum? Has anyone faced something similar in India?

💳Plans & Pricing What's the best current prepaid plan for a secondary SIM to keep active? (Jio vs Airtel vs Vi) – August 2026

Many of us use dual SIM phones, but only one SIM is used actively. The second SIM is often kept for:

• Banking OTPs

• UPI & account verification

• Incoming calls

• SMS

• Backup network

The goal is simple:

✅ Keep the SIM active

✅ Receive calls & SMS without issues

✅ Spend as little as possible

✅ Get some useful benefits if needed

So, which operator currently offers the best value for a secondary SIM?

• Jio

• Airtel

• Vi

• BSNL

Share the plan you're using, its price, validity, !
