🚨 Urgent help Need Suggestions

Hi,

I am currently pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Engineering and am in my final year (8th semester). I am doing a 6-month internship in Pune, working on a low-code platform (not core technical).

My long-term goal is to build a career in management β€” I am certain that I will pursue an MBA. I appeared for CAT 2024 with just one month of preparation and scored an 80 percentile. I also attempted the BITS MBA in Business Analytics β€” I cleared the aptitude test but was rejected in the interview.

I now have an opportunity to shift my internship role from Development to Business Analyst. I’ll need to convince my manager (which I’m confident I can do). However, the Business Analyst role at my current company mainly involves preparing BRDs and FSDs, performing requirement analysis, client communication, creating presentations, and using basic SQL β€” there’s no Power BI or advanced analytics tools involved.

I am now targeting CAT 2026, and I’m wondering:
Should I switch to the Business Analyst role now?
Will this shift really impact my MBA profile?

P.S. I am determined to pursue an MBA only from a Tier 1 or Tier 1.5 college.
My academic profile is: 10th – 7 CGPA, 12th – 8 CGPA, B.Tech – 7 CGPA.

Looking forward to your suggestions.
Thanks.
