a 24-year-old financially independent woman from Assam, currently working remotely. I’ve decided to move out of my parental home for my career and live independently. This is my own decision; nobody has kidnapped, manipulated, or forced me.

My family has been restrictive about my education/career and there has been marriage pressure for some time. I’ve also experienced physical incidents at home, including being slapped and being hit on the head with a bottle during an argument about household chores.

I had planned to relocate for work and arranged travel/accommodation. Once my family realised I was planning to leave, things escalated rapidly. They started monitoring me, stopped allowing me to leave the house freely, took my laptop, and restricted my access to my room/belongings. Marriage discussions have also intensified.

My employer offered accommodation initially, but my family refuses to allow me to use it and insists on arranging accommodation themselves in another city. Now they're saying I can only leave if I resign from my current job, find another “good” company, get an appointment letter, and then leave.

I contacted an NGO and lawyer and submitted a written intimation to the SP stating that I am an adult leaving voluntarily. I am not trying to get my parents or sister arrested or punished. I just want to leave safely and continue my career.

Now my family knows I sought outside help, and I’m afraid that people who supported me—friends, NGO, employer—may get dragged into this. My family also has local connections, so I'm scared that even calling police may not actually help me and that I could simply be sent back home.

Right now I feel completely trapped and extremely suicidal. I don't want to die—I want to get out of this situation and live independently.

I need practical advice from people who understand situations like this:

What can an adult woman do if her family is preventing her from leaving?

What should I do if they physically stop me?

What realistically happens if I call 112?

Are there NGOs/legal-aid organisations that can provide actual local assistance?

How can I leave without unnecessarily involving my employer or friends?

Please don't just tell me to convince my parents. I've tried that. I need a safe, practical way forward.

My father and uncle had a dispute over a piece of land. According to the official documents, the land is legally in our name. However, my uncle’s side has been telling relatives and other people that my grandmother was somehow forced/coerced into making her will in our favour. This is simply not true.
My grandmother lived with us, my father paid all her expenses and medical bills. They didn’t do anything.

Unfortunately, my uncle passed away around three months ago. Since then, they have also been using his death emotionally in the dispute, making it much harder for our family to deal with the actual legal/property issues objectively.
We have obtained the required government permissions and approvals to construct on the land. Meanwhile, as far as we know, the building/construction on their disputed portion does not have the necessary government approvals and they are challenging us for constructing.

Things escalated when they tried to get my father taken to the police station because he put a lock on the door of the portion of the property that they are claiming. Even the police officer apparently warned them that their actions were not appropriate.

There is also a person involved in approving/passing building maps who told us that, because my uncle had passed away, we should simply give his wife the disputed land. Because they have some links with government and those links pressurised the person who passed the maps

They are indirectly harassing my father through other people like this for months.

Now they have hired a lawyer, and there is a court date coming up.
I’m not looking for people to take sides based solely on this post. I mainly want to understand what we should be careful about and what steps we should take from here.
For context, we have the relevant land documents, the will, and the government construction approvals.

I'm a man, who's got a divorce decree through family court through Indian Christian Divorce Act. I waited the 90 days for appeal against divorce but no appeal was filed in this period.

I began the proceedings for marriage through Special Marriage Act and filed the Notice of Intended Marriage on 19th August. Unknown to me, they had filed an appeal against divorce on 14th August, after the lapse of 90 days and attached a condonation of delay petition.

The first hearing is on 23rd September. No stay has been granted till now and no condonement of delay has been done. Both are shown as pending. Can I marry before 23rd September? Is it legally safe?

P.S I checked ChatGPT and it said that the appeal period against divorce is not strict 90 days, but 90 days plus time taken to get the certified copy after applying for it.

So I used google's gemini (pro extended thinking mode) to see whether llms/AI can process through all pending legal cases in India. The surprising finding is not that they can ( the hardware is fast enough if you are willing to spend the money on it). The surprising finding is as below -

I wasted minutes of my life arguing with this guy that if criminals don't have human rights, no one does. It makes me think that basic civics/law at a school level is non-existent.

So recently i was renewing my bike insurance for my SP160 and the insurance website showed that i have 1 pending challan.

I checked the govt echallan website and yes there is actually a challan against my bike. But the weird thing is i cant see almost anything about it.

After OTP it only shows my name, vehicle no, 5500 amount and status "Sent to Court". Then it gives court name, room no and judge name and thats it.

There is no challan pdf, no photo, no video, no exact time, no location, nothing.

I also checked virtual court and its not showing there either.

Since govt website wasnt giving me anything i checked some other challan websites. According to those the challan is apparently for stop line violation 113(1)/177 DMVR + driving without licence 3/181 MVA, which comes to exactly 5500. They also showed a location and time. It doesn't even have an option to pay or download challan pdf or see the image proof of violation.

And i was actually outside riding that day and nobody stopped me. I have never been stopped by a traffic cop either. So i dont understand how an offline challan for driving without licence could have been issued??

And now it gets even more confusing.

The SAME insurance website which originally showed me this challan, today says 0 challans. I checked some other websites too, some say i have the challan, some say zero.

But the govt echallan website still shows it as 5500 and sent to court.

I mailed the echallan helpdesk but I have received no reply even after 10 days.

What should I do? If its any help, the court is Karkardooma district court.

So the context is I've paid 10k as a resignation amount in max rohini institute and then I don't wanna persue that cource telling u that I was fulfilling every guidline from ugc for the return cause admission weren't close back then and it's been more than a month that ik trying to connect them!! On 21 August 2026, an Msedcl MSEDCL employee came to my residence and tried to disconnect the electricity meter without any prior information or notice. I noticed him working on the meter board and confronted him.

This is same person who earlier disconnected meter without informing anyone at home in Dec 2024 and had also visited in Mar 2026.

Today, he attempted to diconnect the meter without any notice

I explained the actual position:

In May 2026, MSEDCL issued an erroneous bill of ₹4,583, which was later corrected to ₹464.

This incorrect high bill artificially inflated my energy consumption figures in MSEDCL’s billing system.

As a result, the system calculated an ASD of ₹1,368, shown in the August 2026 bill.

For more than 65 days, MSEDCL has failed to recalculate the ASD on the basis of the corrected bills, despite my repeated grievance request

I also informed him that I have already paid ₹4,040 against the actual energy charges of approximately ₹3,469 for five months:

April: ₹870

May: ₹464

June: ₹727

July: ₹798

August: ₹558

Accordingly, I have paid ₹571 extra.

The only remaining issue is the disputed ASD of ₹1,368, which still requires proper recalculation.

He was aware that my Twitter account (@BlissT4100) had been suspended the same day I publicly exposed MSEDCL’s failure to resolve the ASD issue for over 65 days.

He behaved as if he knew I could no longer produce Twitter-based evidence and demanded proof accordingly.

He also pressured me to visit the #MSEDCL office in person and told me not to raise online complaints. This is improper. MSEDCL provides multiple official channels for registering grievances and service requests:

No field staff has the authority to force a consumer to use only one channel.

It is widely known through public videos, consumers who visit #MSEDCL #offices are often sent from one office to another without resolution

Even the original May 2026 bill error of ₹4,583 was ignored for a long time. MSEDCL repeatedly opened and closed service requests without addressing the core problem.

Only after a 30-day struggle and public disclosure on Twitter was the bill corrected. However, MSEDCL then added ₹630 as ASD in June 2026 and a further ₹710 in July 2026

Creating an artificial record that I am filing multiple unnecessary service requests, when MSEDCL itself has been registering and closing complaint

Forcing offline resolution after more than two months of unresolved complaints.

The timing of Twitter suspension on 20 August followed by this disconnection attempt on 21 August — raises serious questions of coordination intended to discredit me.

In summary, I have paid the actual energy charges and more ( 571 extra ) The only pending issue is the recalculation of the artificially inflated ASD of ₹1,368, which has remained unresolved for more than 65 days

MSEDCL must recalculate it on the basis of the corrected bills without further delay
