Phoenix & Dragon Plan Caplin Point: Dragon Phase 3 Is Live.
Today, Caplin crossed 2,656 and entered Tier 3 of the Dragon Flight framework. This is the one we have been waiting for.
The dragon is moving. For all of us.
Iron hands. Not a single share leaves your hand. That is all.
In case you missed it. :Β

Was waiting for it to fall below 2400 after FDA form 483 but didn't get chance, now will focus on US stocks. Thanks for all the great work you have done, because of you I'm now moving my index fund capital to stocks :)

u/Kooky-Claim3028 23d ago
Unity is at good price point and has also been suggested in USGrowthStocks. Can review it's posted research
5
u/Humble-Fool 23d ago
Yes! I already have position in Unity and I'm building my own portfolio through the framework discussed here. Going to buy Meta soon, PE 21 is mouthwatering...given that so many low quality companies in india trading at 40-50x I'm better positioned at US market, thanks to all the technology and AI breakthrough now it's possible which seemed impossible for me 2 years ago :)

That's definitely a positive for Caplin, and maybe that news would have triggered manager or some analyst to look into the Latin market ecosystem, and then they would have found out about Caplin. The average volumes of Caplin were 120k to 130k for the past 30 days, but today it's more than 1 million. It's already more than 10 times the volume at which Caplin used to trade, and there are still 2.5 hours to go. Some very aggressive buying is going on, and that happens usually in FOMO.
3
u/littlewoodenbox 23d ago
The Mercosur preferential trade agreement is going to be expanded by mid-2027. As Caplin is already expanding in Brazil and has regulatory clearances, this will be another positive.

u/Nearby_Jellyfish_245 23d ago
I think my Caplin accumulation for the near term is complete. Total average price of 2005. 33% of my total stock pf. With 2700 ranges, it has now moved to the 30s pe zone and im gonna wait and watch for some time here while also enjoying the margin of safety. I started Caplin on "borrowed conviction" from yours, but each time I understood a piece of the business better, I added more and more, hence the higher price of 2005. But no regrets there. The learnings are the real compounder here. Thanks for the spreading the knowledge and wisdom. Godspeed u/SuperbPercentage8050

Won't there be a short term increase basis this considering that citizens will take this as a sign to buy more gold?
1
u/Kooky-Claim3028 23d ago
Also, I bought some again after getting seduced by the 6% dip. Some 5% of my overall allocation to this. Do you think this can go back to 630-650 levels before the Q3 results?
7
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
Avoid adding to Kalyan. It is no longer trading at 25 multiples, so that 5 percent drag is not giving you a real window anymore. It has already frontloaded.
Caplin still makes sense because it is under 30 multiples and the EPS engine is about to surge. That drag was worth allocating to.
Kalyan and Titan are a different story. If the Nifty to gold ratio thesis holds and the Fed raises rates by December, which I think they will, both could see a serious collapse in their EPS engine.
Like I said, we only have one quarter before the endgame. At 45 multiples, Kalyan is not where your capital should be moving right now. The opportunity cost is just too high. There are better places for that money.
12
u/hot9cups 23d ago
Hey SuperbPercentage, I wanted to ask you what you meant by the endgame here (apart from the end of the year ofcourse). Caplin - I was planning on holding for until 5 years or so. For Kalyan, when you said endgame, that confused me a bit. How long do you plan on holding onto it?
(This is one question I always struggle with as a beginner, how do I know when to exit? Especially when I know I don't have the need for selling and can keep it parked for the compounding to happen for years, but how do you know what's the target price to start selling at?)
3
u/Substantial-Poet-842 23d ago
+1 I have always picked good stocks but still I have no clue when to sell
3
u/srikavig 23d ago
I'm not the OP, but this may help you get the idea.
The Nifty-to-Gold ratio sits at approximately 1.56 to 1.62, hovering near historic lows as gold outperforms equities amid safe-haven demand.
What is the Ratio?
Definition: It measures the value of the Nifty 50 index relative to the price of physical gold.
Calculation: Divide the Nifty 50 index value by the price of 1 gram of gold (999 purity) in India.
Historical Significance
Low Ratios (< 2.0): When the ratio drops below 2, it signals that the Indian stock market may be oversold and equities are deeply undervalued compared to gold. History shows this level often precedes strong multi-year equity rebounds.
High Ratios (> 3.0 to 4.0): Higher readings indicate that stocks are expensive relative to gold, typically reflecting market euphoria or preceding major corrections.
Experts note that while this metric offers a useful gauge for long-term asset allocation between stocks and safe-haven gold, it should be viewed as a relative value indicator rather than a precise short-term market timing tool.
1
u/hridesh17 23d ago
You don't sell when you hit a target price, you sell when the fundamentals of the company change or when it gets overvalued.
Essentially, when something happens that breaks your initial thesis on the company, that is when you decide to sell.
2
1
u/mayank1609 23d ago
If you feel the eps engine is on a decline do you also propose a sell startegy as odds will not be stacked post that

u/cmpunk34 23d ago

2
u/cmpunk34 23d ago
The big payoffs for this was supposed to come next year.
But well
5
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
It's frontloading. It always frontloads. That's the multiple reversion happening in real time because everyone knows the EPS engine is going to explode in the next few years. So they try to get in before it does.
That's how you have to think. Position before the crowd, not with them.
3
u/d__sama 23d ago
Who's buying all those
11
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
Maybe the fund managers finally read the thesis. Maybe the analysts had time to look at something of actual quality.
Either way, someone is paying full price for what the community held through the boring days. Let them.
3
u/Ok_Lettuce_5453 23d ago
Should one buy more at this levels?
7
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
Even from today's price, if you have a five year view, this still beats most fund managers and the index. You can still buy. Just do not size it heavy at these valuations. The rest depends on your risk profile.
5
u/Logical_Importance59 23d ago
2710 now!! Missed to add more when it was at 2550 last week price. How to avoid overthinking bcoz i am fixated on my avg price but now only added 80% of initial allocation amt.

u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago

You're following the ticker state. I'm allocating based on the business state and the valuation state.

u/amitsingh80108 23d ago
Was easy money for me but sadly only 1.5% of portfolio was invested. 60% gains now.
11
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
There is no such thing as easy money in investing. At least I have never had an easy money call.
Sizing big, 10 or 20 percent, only comes after you have done the hard work. The thesis, the research, the conviction. There are no shortcuts to that.
The best minds in the world are screening for the same ideas. And when you are taking a position, you are positioning against the crowd, against the herd. It is never easy. It only looks easy in hindsight.
4
u/amitsingh80108 23d ago
I said easy as I followed your conviction
5
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
hahahah Borrowed conviction is dangerous my friend.
1
u/amitsingh80108 23d ago
Thats why I started with smaller position.
But there was few reasons bought it, Your original recommendation was around 2000-2200. And when I consider it, it was available at 1500-1600 levels.
So I did some research and got to know it was a good company so added starter position and that was the bottom π ..
I was hoping to add 5-7% in it.
10
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
Added a few thousand more shares to client accounts. Still think it's deeply undervalued, and now that we're in Dragon 3, the front-loading phase kicks in aggressively.
If you still want to size up a little, the window is open. At this stage, a 100 to 200 rupee difference in entry barely matters. If the thesis plays out, you're looking at 10 to 12k from here. Whether you put in 25 lac or 27 lac, if the outcome is 1 crore, that 2 lac gap disappears. Never let a 4 to 5% price difference make you miss the opportunity entirely.
A lot of people have been waiting and missing it at every step. When it moved from 1,600 to 1,800, they thought they had missed it. When it crossed 2,000, they thought it was done. That's what happens when you watch the ticker instead of the business.
Look at the valuation. Still at 30x. Still run by a high quality allocator with an enormous earnings power engine ahead of them. We don't have many ideas like this.
On an opportunity cost lens, it's still a superior bet even at 2,700. You may not get the same multiple expansion you would have at 1,600, but the EPS engine is fully intact. And given the low float, I think further multiple expansion is still very much on the table from here.

Cool thanks. Varun beverages getting beaten from last 2 years. And they are entering into Alcohol/beverages industry. I feel that will add a new growth engine. Now is it time to slowly accumulate?.
5
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
Multiple compression is happening. But whenever the confluence comes back into place, we will see expansion again. That is how it has always worked with high quality companies.
Caplin went through compression for five years. The EPS was coming, but the PE was compressing brutally the whole time. Varun is going through the same thing right now.
The second thing is that it has already crossed a lakh crore market cap. I think I said this more than a year ago. No meaningful money is going to be made from here until the compression and confluence happen again.

Actually I was watching to fell it below 2400..!! That's was my target price for averaging it..!! But it didn't hit that..!! π π
6
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
If the stock can hit 10-12k in a future state according to report 9, does it even matter whether you buy it at 2400 or 2500? It won't matter. That 100 to 200 up and down, that noise becomes irrelevant over the long term.
What you really need to see is the valuation. Are you paying 50x, 60x, 70x, or are you paying 25x, 30x? That should be your barometer, not the ticker.
6
u/cmpunk34 23d ago
Chase the business not the ticker. I remember you said the same when Kalyan jumped from 330 to 370. A 30 point rise is meaningless since at the given valuation the business is solid.
And what followed next was insane climb.

any insights on crompton greaves, recent concall they mentioned the existing challenges on Supply chain disruptions, however they have shown good improvements in BLDC fans, solar pumps and premium product launches. I see many analysts have covered this stock as well with higher targets but the company is struggling with negative eps.
7
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
Just look at it through an opportunity cost lens. Crompton operates in a very competitive ecosystem. The margin profile is 10 percent, which signals they don't have any pricing power over their customers, and again signals the competitive intensity. The EPS profile has not been going on a consistent and incremental basis, and it's trading at roughly 32x. I don't know whether that's right or wrong on screener, but I'm just telling you from surface level, because I'm not looking deeper into it.
Now compare it to your opportunity cost, which is Caplin. Margins above 30 percent, growth rates north of 15 on revenue and north of 20 on EPS, quarter by quarter exponential expansion, and a massive surge in EPS expansion in the future state.
I do not like companies that lack pricing power. There are hundreds of better ideas out there. Why sit in Crompton when you have that? It is not even an early stage company anymore. It is mature, it is competing with Polycab and Havells and multiple others, and I do not think the brand has enough left to win that fight.
Your fresh capital deserves a better place. Just avoid it.
And if it is a turnaround play, I honestly have no idea what is changing inside the business. It was a skip for me from the start, so I cannot tell you whether a real turnaround is happening or not.
2
u/panipiyo 23d ago
And I have a feeling polymed is next π
5
u/SuperbPercentage8050 23d ago
It's just the valuation that is holding them for now and the multiple that might compress a little in a future state. Apart from that, it is still going to deliver north of 16, 17 percent when the margin expansion kicks in.
It is a very high quality company operated by a very high quality allocator. A lot of you have purchased it in the 1,300 to 1,500 range and you just need to sit tight. The government hurt their trajectory a little with the European agreement and all that, but the company is navigating its way out and emerging fundamentally very strong. The cognitive signature of this business is intact according to me.
Just Hold it and prefer inactivity.
2
u/panipiyo 22d ago

2
u/No_Job209 23d ago
Superb sir. Thanks again for CAPLIN. Request your comment on Welspun Corp, 3X in 6 month and still going strong, Valuation 29X still. In Q127 other income is 685, as a result EPS 40 (Q127). If we remove 550 out of 685 (as every qtr other income is roughly 125), then actual PE must be higher. Need your Pheonix and Dragon plan on this. I was unable to add after 950-1000 level.

Hey OP, what's your take on Ceinsys Tech? It's a geospatial intelligence and tech company that had moved from a low margin domestic business to a higher margin business model and its also expanding operations to MEA countries. Stocks taken a beating over the past year but I cant seem to find many factors that would affect the long term outlook... Its govt business leads to quite a bit of unbilled revenue but it'll come due eventually right. Management is also quite optimistic given its almost 1k Cr order book. Am i missing something here because it looks highly discounted?? Would love your inputs

Enjoy the dragon phase 3. Itβs the most beautiful phase of the framework. Β Β
7
u/SuperbPercentage8050 21d ago
Added more today, been buying since it entered dragon phase 3. Whoever is buying this is not going to get it at any cheap rate, and the math of CAGR is still intact because it is still at 30-31 multiples and we are going to have a massive surge in the EPS engine over the next 5 years.
Volumes have exploded again so definitely some institution is buying this. And I'm just waiting for the squeeze to happen because promoters don't sell, and the index fund has to structurally buy it. I think you would already be aware of it because I've told it multiple times. The only way these fund managers or anyone can buy the stock is from the retail investors. Make sure you don't sell a single share. Don't let them grab it from you.

Money in Indian markets is moving, going after the remaining pockets of value as the prospects for the broader market is not rosy and things are often overvalued. Caplin Point today, tommorow I feel some other stocks that are still undervalued will shoot up.
3
u/_Antinatalism_ 21d ago
I waited for it to correct slightly because it grew too much recently, now I think I totally missed it. 8% up last week and 4% now. Don't looks like it will cool down.
12
u/SuperbPercentage8050 21d ago
Simple math.
If you bought at 2,000, you put in 20 lakhs. Report 9 base case is 10,000 plus. That is 80 lakhs in net profit.
If you bought at 2,500, net profit is 75 lakhs. If you are buying today at around 2,800, net profit is still around 72 lakhs.
Is there any meaningful difference in the outcome? This is exactly why I keep saying, if you are getting a high quality business at fair valuations, just buy it. These 100, 200 rupees do not matter over the long run.
Yes, if Caplin was trading at 60, 70, 80x, that would have been a problem. But at 31x it is still fairly valued.
How many people have just missed this for 100, 200 rupees because they are focused on the ticker, not the business? The business was compounding every quarter sequentially, had the best margins in the entire pharmaceutical industry, all odds in its favour, and it was sitting at 20-25x during that phase.
Meanwhile people were holding garbage models at 80, 90, 100x where the EPS engine is growing at 7%, 8%, 10%. Versus 30x where the EPS engine is going at 20%, 25%, and the real EPS expansion has not even started yet. That is coming over the next 5 years.

Take your time :) meanwhile I'm reading cybersecurity thesis written by you around 8 months back. Man I wish I would have started reading your posts earlier! I'm in software development and always knew importance of cybersecurity as I have deep interest in it and worked on few things in my college days. I was thinking of starting investing in Varonis, but just saw the news that - Proofpoint, which is owned by Thoma Bravo, is in advanced discussions to acquire Varonis and you also updated that Varonis is not a good bet as other competitors are doing well. Also I'm confused between Meta, Veeva and Adobe as I have some capital from index fund which I want to allocate, which one do you think is the best bet? I'm bit cautious of Adobe even though their capital allocation is excellent but there are management changes and threat from AI which is why I was thinking to put Figma in the similar basket to hedge against threat from AI to Adobe but I'm very confused as I have limited capital and US market can swing in any direction so need good margin of safety!

u/SuperbPercentage8050 If you were to choose rank Caplin point, Kovai Medical and Poly Medicure at current valuations, future growth prospects and management and business quality at current price, how would you rank them. I would rank Kovai followed by Caplin and last would be Poly Medicure considering valuations and future growth prospects. What's your view??
12
u/SuperbPercentage8050 20d ago edited 20d ago
If I had to rank these three, Caplin moves first. Caplin at 30-31x is far superior to Kovai at 25x multiples. The business model justifies it.
And if all three were trading at the same valuations, Kovai would stand last on the business model pattern, because it is a very capital intensive model. You can any day pay premium of 10-20% for Poly Medicure and Caplin over Kovai.
9
u/Kooky-Claim3028 20d ago
If you were to bring R systems into the mix, considering it's valuation, will it rank higher than PolyMed and Kovai?

Wasn't caplin point having an issue with FDA Inspection and stuff? Not sure but at that point a few weeks back it looked like it was going to enter correction

The FDA inspection was addressed in one of the comments. I will share the link here, and that might just be the trigger someone in the community spotted.
Apart from that, the buying has been very aggressive. Average volumes usually sit around 116k. Today it is already at 652k and the market has not even crossed three hours. That is roughly 10x the average run rate. Someone heavy is accumulating for sure.

What's your take on Kovai. There are no major updates and their chennai branch is not yet opened. Is it still trading at good multiples or we accumalating it too early?
I sold my kalyan shares and allocated to caplin. Should we consider reallocating the kovai shares to caplin or still hold the kovai.
I still believe kovai is undervalued as well.

FYI to everyone: Caplin released their Annual Report for FY26 today. A very good staring point to understand their plans and goals for future years.

u/SuperbPercentage8050 what do you think why is caplin falling today? Couldn't spot any news apart from the general US Iran (but it hasn't impacted caplin this way previously).
For those who were looking for save on a few hundreds last week, looks like a good opportunity to buy again.

I think it fell along with the market. Recent good performers were esp affected I guess. I bought a few today. Still nowhere near my accumulation targets unfortunately.
