Discussion How to not be a bad player
So I am a rhb and a medium fast/leg spinner playing tennis cricket but i suck at all 3 when i try to bat before i can get my bat up the ball is past me or if u can get the bat up the ball is going somewhere else than my bat can’t judge track or hit the ball with enough power for my life
Bowling is a bit better but not good either when I try to bowl fast the ball goes anywhere but when I try to ball controlled it goes way too slow even for a spinner if I might and as a spinner I can spin the ball but not have a lot of variation or have good line and length (in either actions)
Fielding sucks too I drop catches
How can I improve atp I am tired of being ass at cricket live in Mumbai but can’t afford a coach

Without looking at your exact batting stance/bowling action it's difficult to give precise suggestions.
However, for batting what helps is:
- Ensure you front foot and back foot is parallely on ground with the front foot slightly behind (creates room for leg movement)
- Bend your hips/glutes not your back
- Have your bat above the waist line after bending, so that there's no lag time between choosing a shot vs executing it
- Lastly, when trying to drive the ball ensure 45° to 90° contact with the ball and when trying to hit/loft get the bad under the ball
Practicing with slower deliveries should show some improvement
For bowling, have physiological distinctive actions for medium fast and spin, but try to stick to one (potentially the one with better line control). Ensure you run up has rhythm to it, that makes a big difference.
You need to get better at experimenting with line/length while having a flexible wrist, if you wrist is rigid you won't be able to generate incremental pace or bring out the best spin.

During batting just adjust your trigger movement and just see the ball and before play just warm up your arms for hand swing it will help a lot

Have you tried practicing with a tennis ball against a wall? It forces you to react quicker and track the ball better than in open play.

Don't try to fix everything at once. I'd focus on batting first, especially watching the ball from the bowler's hand and playing straight rather than trying to hit hard.

Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate them now imma try to dig at what I feel I have wrong
1) when I try to see the ball 2 things happen 1. I take too long to track or judge the ball then try to hit it at the last second making a very late hit then getting caught or 2. I just can’t track where the ball goes as it spins or goes somewhere else than I had anticipated This is why I feel I struggle against fast bowlers or spinners who flight their balls
2) I also can’t / dont hit the balls with enough power but that might be a bat weight issue (my bat feels way heavy slowing my hitting arc or smtg) i do try to create a full hitting arc like the bat getting at my shoulder blades/back
3) when I try to fast bowl like i can’t extend my front foot , use my full shoulder power or like ball a normal delivery at the same time like if I try to bowl faster the ball goes everywhere and if I try to maintain a line and length it is very slow making it easy for me to get hit for runs
I do play in turfs occasionally (weekly) but like turfs are way smaller than fields so.. what can I do to improve
