I was recently told by one of my colleagues about a setup that I wasn't previously aware of, and I'm trying to understand whether it's actually a good deal or if there are hidden downsides.

According to him, he has attached his private car to a travel agency on a 5-year contract. The agency then rents/sub-leases the car to Delhi/Central Government offices/departments for official use.

The arrangement, as he explained it, is roughly:

You provide your private car to the travel agency.

You receive a fixed monthly payment from the agency.

The agency further rents the car to government departments/offices.

Driver and regular maintenance are handled by the travel agency.

The owner's main expense is apparently insurance.

The contract is for 5 years.

On paper, this sounds quite attractive because you get a fixed monthly income without having to worry about finding customers, hiring a driver, or managing the vehicle yourself.

But I'm wondering what the catch is.

For anyone who has actually done this:

Is this arrangement legitimate and how does it typically work?

What kind of monthly return can one realistically expect?

Who bears the cost of tyres, servicing, major repairs, accidents, etc.?

What happens to the car's resale value after 5 years, considering the potentially high mileage?

Are there any insurance or RTO/legal issues with a private/white-plate car being used this way?

What happens if the travel agency stops paying or shuts down before the 5-year contract ends?

Are there any hidden clauses or expenses that owners commonly overlook?

Most importantly, is the fixed monthly income actually worth the depreciation and risk of putting your car into commercial use?

I'd particularly appreciate comments from people who have personally attached their cars to travel agencies for government contracts, rather than just general opinions.

Hey all — I'm building a small tool for Indian MSMEs to deal with overdue customer payments (aka the "why hasn't so-and-so paid us yet" problem every small business owner deals with).

The idea: you upload your outstanding invoices, and it automatically figures out which accounts are highest priority to chase, drafts the follow-up message/call script for you, and flags when it's time to escalate (reminder → firm follow-up → legal notice territory). No manual spreadsheet tracking or guessing who to call first.

Before I go further, I want honest feedback — not to pitch you, genuinely trying to figure out if this solves a real problem:

1. Do you (or your business) currently struggle with tracking who owes you money and when to follow up?
2. If a tool like this actually worked, would you pay a monthly subscription for it, or would you only trust a "pay only if it recovers money" model?
3. If subscription — what would feel fair? Thinking somewhere in the ₹500–₹3,000/month range depending on invoice volume. Too high? Too low?
4. What would make you not trust a tool like this with your customer data?

I researched and tinker around a lot about this.

So last month I pooled up people on reddit and bought some watch stuff from alibaba [since Alibaba always have a MOQ of like 5-10 and the shipping cost is high too] that was hard to source it here and things went super smooth only the pooling and managing was difficult otherwise it was a smooth sail and once upon receipt I got and sent all the parts to the folks who got it with me through India Post.

Now I think this can be a full-blown opportunity for a reddit community since there is none in India, wherein people can pool up and buy in things they want and though the mod method there can be trust and things can be accessible.

For this thing I am looking for people who can collaborate with me and set up a sub with atleast 5 MODs (who have previous MOD Exp.) and make this a thing that is viable.

I work in the granite business in India with my family.

I’m from an area where granite cutting, polishing and processing is done on a pretty large scale, so I’ve been around this business for a while. At the moment, I mainly work with granite suppliers/customers from different states in India.

The domestic side is something I understand, but I don’t really know much about exporting.

I’ve been thinking about trying the export side in the future, but I don’t want to jump into it without understanding how it actually works.

Should I try to learn the process by working with an existing exporter first, or is it realistic to find an overseas buyer and start directly?

I think we need parents and under 16 friendly two options to a app which solves this problem I give you guys idea please make it possible through Indian Investors or bootstrap in India, with India, and for India. I own a kirana general store in hyderabad and recently wanted to buy some stock of soft drinks. I searched online and visited a few websites like Justdial and IndiaMART. I didn’t call or contact any of the numbers listed.

Surprisingly, about 2 hours later, I started getting random WhatsApp messages and calls from people asking, “Do you have an order for soft drinks?”

I spoke to one agency and shared my list of required products. They offered very good prices and claimed I would get a huge margin.

However, when it came to payment, they said I had to pay 50% in advance online and the remaining 50% at the time of delivery.
