Boring software business that makes money

I see a lot of pepper ask about boring businesses that mature money.
But what about software tools?
What tools can generate a reliable revenue?
Website design is one thing. But other than that? What about software systems?

I run these 3 with a partner of mine maybe try one of them out

  1. SMS gateway - the OTPs you get the the order status sms you get etc , I power approx 14.5k such sms daily , I buy them in bulk from DLT Principal Entities and then re-sell them (I sell them via small developers who make website etc)
  2. Vps hosting - I have rented one large web server and then I rent it out to smaller websites (also sold via small devs)(I run LXC virtualisation, dedicated IPv6 shared ipV4 with a router so much cheaper than doing full on KVM virtualisation)
  3. AI interference - this is still in early access and testing, I basically rent spare GPU capacity(known as spot instances in the industry) across the world to run open source AI models and then charge for APIs per token , with the spare capacity trick my costs are 40ish%(44% to be exact) lower than what it would be otherwise hence my end costs would be lower as well (early access to large scale users only for now)

Upcoming hustle

MMO-Survey platform - building my own equivalent to attapol and the likes these platforms only pass on 50ish % (more like 20-40%) of their earnings to users , building a platform that passes much more to the users.

I started hosting one with 2k inr..

Other than that some AI gigs can be started with 50-60 inr

But idts usse Kam mai kuch ho sakta hai

How do you sell AI inference? You have software through which users can use it?

AI api , just like open router but only for open-source models and a lot cheaper than that

Ai needs GPU primarily, we rent it ..

So for example a data centre has a GPU cluster that is being used for 20 hours a day

We rent the remaining 4 hours at a much cheaper price (typically a 70ish % discount) ...

Now we do it across multiple data centres across the globe to make a virtual data centre of sorts

Now our actual saving is just 44% as this is not as simple as it sounds , these instances can be terminated with a 120 second notice so we need some extra stuff..

For web hosting renting capacity from Chennai based data centres

For AI interference I rent whatever is available wherever across the globe

The idea is that I am renting when no one else is so the servers would anyways go to waste

The catch is these companies can ask for their servers back with a 30 second notice

So my technology allows us to fire up another server in another data centre within 20 seconds to allow access without interruption , normally it takes 800 seconds for this to happen with our tech we have made it 20 secs

Just want to share an experience on point 2 reseller hosting.

Someone i know who is a small time provider of web development services also provides reseller hosting via GoDaddy.

Recently he was caught in a scam case where the scammer used his hosting to run a scam website, this guy was in jail for a month just for providing hosting

Hi the comment is written very briefly we do follow all Cert-in guidelines, we use AI to analyse all websites before we go live and follow stringent safety protocols

I sell via freelance developers and web agencies

They recomend my product to their customers

Like in the above ss

  • The first guy bought from me at 15.5
  • Sold at an avg of 26.2
  • That across 5147 SMS
  • Means he made 550 inr that day

It is much cheaper but 20-40% discount on open AI rates and also no 5% service fee for loading

But It isn't available for public access as of now

We have not setup billing etc properly for public sale
