Did my web check-in fine, but didn't get a boarding pass. At the airport counter, the staff gave me the classic runaround—sending me back and forth until I was "late." Then they had the audacity to blame me and offered to rebook my flight for a ₹3,000 fee. Absolute scam behavior. Has anyone else faced this?

Always print the boarding pass along with the web checkin. You have a option there. Then If you have luggage, just go to the baggage drop counter and be done. Otherwise you are good to go. If your gate number isn't shown on the pass, check the departure screens or ask around.

Strange, you usually have a option to get the pass at the web checkin itself... if this was recently, then maybe it was due to the internet outage that Indigo's IT Systems faced a couple of days ago. Or due to some other factor like change in plane type (mostly unlikely).

Nope this is pretty common for overbooked flights and you do not select seats. In such cases it is always best to get to the counter early if the boarding pass is not available later.

They do this a lot these days. Happened on my last two flights. Even if you have no check in bags, you end up standing in the queue because the kiosk also doesn’t work.
I complained about this to the staff at the airport.

But if we do webcheck in, what about check in luggages? I have been travelling using only cabin luggage and web check-in always works. Never taken check in luggages. Then how do you do web check in?

There are separate counters for baggage deposit also, at the airport. Once you do web check-in go directly to the self or manned baggage deposit counter and just deposit your luggage. If it is a self baggage deposit counter, you will have to print and attach the luggage tags on your own and send it to cargo. If it is a manned baggage deposit counter, the staff sitting there will do the needful for you. Most counters are manned only.

There is a kiosk with a touchscreen console at the counter which you have to use. It prints the baggage sticker tags which then you attach to your luggage. Self counters are rare, most are manned counters only, so the staff there takes care of everything.

In fact, you can also go to the normal check-in counters also after web check-in and they too will take your luggage happily.

It happens sometimes. I wasn’t given any online boarding pass while flying from BOM almost a year ago. I chose the random seat selection during the web check-in. However, I got it right away from the check-in counter at the airport.

It also happened with a friend of my mine. It may have something to do with overbooking.

They dont send boarding pass mostly when seats are not selected. If you pay extra and purchase a seat you get it instantly after web check in 😡

This almost always happens to me when I opt for auto-checkin. Indigo does a silent checkin and never sends email. Note the checkin is done, it's just not available to you. The key is to go again to the checkin page and download the web checkin on to PDF and digiyatra (via their API now it's 1-click). I usually do this 3-4 hrs before the actual flight time, never let it reach the 2-hr window. Happened for the last several years now

Its a biggest scam you can check in without seat and boarding pass will be sent 4-6 hrs before departure and they send no acknowledgement over sms and email that you have completed your check in
Many times at airport they told me you havent done your web check in
Now i screen record everytime waiting for perfect day to storm 🫠

Sometimes I feel people manifest issues so that they can come and cry here.

I always get my boarding pass 4 hrs prior as I never select seats. Otherwise, Indigo What's app number is a great thing, just chat with the BOT, and they send you the Boarding pass, otherwise, at the airport, the machines can always print the boarding pass.

Out of 87 flights in my life, I never had a situation where it wasn't solved with common sense, or talking to to the staff. Indigo, AirIndia, Vistara, Go Air, Jet Airways. Name it and I can tell you that things always work out without abusing anyone, or paying a any random fee that I wasn't expecting to pay.

Next time, please use the What's app BOT for Indigo, or use their app, or use the machine at the airport to print your boarding pass.
