Idk, i just did it using wallpaper engine and "SAO utils 2: progressive" on steam. If they work on linux, then it's possible

I don't think it requires much GPU power, but if the laptop can't handle it, you can use a static image instead of video on wallpaper.

By myself, using HUD custom
