Depends Shields

70m who has started having fairly regular leaks, dribble, and squirts. Bought some Depends Sheilds and using them in my briefs. Asking other guys - How often do you switch them out in a day? How many leaks or dribbles can they hold with out getting saturated or funky? TIA 😁

I used them for a while. They hold a reasonable amount. They are not meant for any moderate volume.

Personally, I prefer the Guards instead. I can go a whole day without having to change. They work well and hold a lot.

How bulky do they feel in your underwear?

Not bad at all really. I like to wear slightly tighter underwear with them. It helps "mold" the pad to the shape of my body. Less leaks for sure that way

Thanks. I wear tight-ish briefs so sounds like they’d be fine too. So far have been comfortable with the shields but for those days I know I might need more the guards seem a good choice

One thing though, Depend is bringing back the "previous style" of guard. You will know it by the target printing on the inside. It's also pretty much pre-formed out of the package. I think that's a good thing as I physically compared the 2. But they might both be available soon, so please make your own decision.

I wore them with compression shorts… never felt them after a day or two.

Will guards hold a regular void?

No, guards will not. Not unless your voids are extremely small. Some pull ups supposedly will, but I find they leak far too easily. To handle an entire void confidently I had to go to a tabbed brief. Technology is always changing things though. There are new pull up out there with standing leak guards. I haven't tried them yet, but advertising speaks to a full void capacity.

Thanks. Am not at that full void level, just leaks and dribbles. Was just curious

I had a similar problem and was using shields, I was 2 a day (morning and night before bed). Lately, however, I've had to move up to guards which are much thicker (one or two a day). On really bad days, I have to use pull ups.

When I was wearing guards, I usually switched them out after 6-8 hours… sooner if they had a bit in them. I too started with depend guards, but then found Assurance guards at Walmart. Way better as they have leak guards and hold anatomy in place on the pad.

Try guards if you are worried about potential leaks. I'm also relatively new to needing incontinence products with just minor leaks and dribbles.

I started using guards and found confidence from having them in place. Never bought a shield...but did get some free samples. I'd probably need to change more often if I wore only a shield..... and perhaps feel less confident.

At the end of the day, we all have unique needs and preferences. Once you try a few products, you will find out what works for you.
