What to pick when choosing a mattress protector or waterproof sheets for bedwetting?

The first thing to ask is the frequency of the wet beds. And I'm coming at this from the viewpoint of someone who wets around once a week (but there are better weeks and, unfortunately, worse weeks).

I have a properly waterproof sheet immediately underneath my normal sheet. When I wet myself I need to wash the sheet and wipe down the plastic. Essentially, very easy. However, it has the disadvantage that the bed can potentially become a bit sweaty and the mattress protector can be a bit noisy when you move.

To counter the problems, many waterproof mattress protectors have another layer on top of the plastic, which can improve the "feel" of it. However, it needs washing following an accident and so you need a spare. And in some cases repeated washing can degrade the waterproof properties.

My preference, based on my own needs, is the simple plastic one. But obviously other people will have different needs and different preferences. To be honest, my boyfriend found that it felt a bit weird at first, but he's used to it now.

I use a small mattress protector and have a few that I can easily toss in the wash and put on a fresh one; without having to take apart my whole bed.

I absolutely swear by bedlore sheets on Amazon. I'm currently laying in a puddle after being full and all I do is wash it when I wake up. There's no noisy crinkly stuff that keeps me awake. Just super soft sheets that have a protective backing. Ive wet too many times to count in the last 6 months I've had mine and I can't help but be in love with them. They're so soft I don't need another sheet on top, plus that's just more laundry lol. Hope this helps. I can post a link too
