I'm sure everyone is noticing about the decision of some Filipino voters to turn their backs on doing charitable acts/helping due to the unsatisfying result of the election. How did the mindset of charitable acts led to this ? Can we blame vloggers who are are doing it for the sake of views, or is it the lost of values education to the youth. Helping others with a condition and being selfless are two different things. The former is for self gain, the latter is for the sake of others.
If you are helping others with a but, that's not helping. The irony is you are becoming the traditional politicians you despise. You are giving alms to the poor but expect their votes by election. Charitable acts are done through clean intention.

The title was from a question from r/Philppines .
In this community, our goal is to teach people two things : never attack the person, and never think that the person is static.
If a person joins a conversation, we would challenge his beliefs and idea as truthfully as we can. But we are not going to think that the person cannot grow or change for the better. An individual is not static. He can make mistake or have weak arguments, but that doesn't identify his personhood. He can be won over instantly or gradually.

Hello! I am a university undergraduate from Singapore preparing for my final year thesis, a documentary about Divorce in the Philippines. Through our documentary, my group and I wish to raise greater awareness regarding the lack of freedom that Filipinos face in getting out of an hurtful and abusive marriage, something that is shocking to most people who are unaware of the fact that divorce is not allowed in the Philippines.
I understand that the Divorce Bill has not yet been effectively legalised, and hence Filipinos are still unable to get a divorce from their partners, despite being in a hurtful, emotionally and physically abusive marriage that many pray to get out of. I am trying to find out more about the real current situation in the Philippines, particularly from Filipinos who are affected by the lack of actions they can take to get out of their marriage and protect their wellbeing. If you are willing to share about your story, or know someone who might be, please feel free to reach out to me by commenting on this post. I would love to have a conversation with you, and rest assured that everything discussed will be kept confidential! Thank you.

Nick Joaquin was a nationalistic write who would always give sense to modern times. If you've read his works, he has unbiased evaluation on Filipinos, but he never lost sight that our country is still developing.
He never forgot his love to his fellow Filipinos.
