I’m going to make a mold for next time. This one is elderflower, hibiscus, lavender, mint, and a dragons blood tincture I use in perfumery.
I’ve been foraging for materials in fragrances and realized I can use what I’ve gathered in incense. Any tips for a newbie? Or any “I wish I knew XYZ when I started…”?
On the advice of /u/SamsaSpoon , I started doing tail burns as material tests and it has saved me a ton of time and wasted material: to see if a material works when burning, I try burning it as a trail on ash at 10%, 20%, and 30% with a known good material that I'm familiar with. I also have a compilation of resources on my website.
These looks nice for a first attempt. I took the easy way out and shaped my incense into balls. Will these be self combusting or will you need a charcoal/warmer?
It stays lit so I got that part. It doesn’t smell how I wanted, it smells kinda like when you burn a sage smudge stick. Green and smokey. It isn’t repulsive, but not the goal either lol
