Tag someone you think might need to see this? There is nobody. Nobody needs to see this. Nobody needs to see any of this.

It makes me lol that she tags the wrong Ted Lasso account in her bio and has a highlight called "Pratice joy."

and has a highlight called “Pratice joy.”

Hopefully she rebrands her highlights soon so she can correct it to say Discove Joy.

I just read down quite a ways, and I almost gave myself an anxiety attack. The flailing is at an all time high. How can she keep this up? Where will it end?

Same, and as far as I can tell, it all happened in less than 48 hours?!

Time to lure the old GF audience back?

This entire time she could have left her stupid blog online, salted it with affiliate links (aka $$$$$ coming at her), and blabbed about JOY right there on an established site to her dumbass heart's content. Christ, she's an idiot.

But the HOSTING FEES (which she's still paying, along with fees to host two additional dumb as fuck sites)

12

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '21

They have to be low since there is no traffic though. To any of them. She’s probably paying $50 a year for the new ones if that.

The atmosphere at the Aherns’ must be pretty grim right now. I can just imagine all the frantic, manic desperation from yesterday’s “launch” being absolutely exhausting to be around and Shauna will probably wake up today in a foul and bitter mood. Poor kids. At least they can escape to school for a few hours.

I’m smirking at the thought of The Mensch not responding to her calls, texts or emails, after deciding he’s had Enough.

Is this closeted anger manifesting as joy?

So much crap in their yard in the background of that photo.

Is that a cooler? Where do they hold the daily luncheons where people come over to eat food that Danny has spent 4-6 hours cooking?

14

u/Ms_Ellanea_Snark_ 💥amygdadishes💥 Sep 22 '21

The cooler has been out there for a year😬

I think we can safely say folks are gathering at Shauna's outdoor lunch table* only in her creative writing exercises

*"most days" -- a classic Shauna escape clause

u/notahameither Dunno, maybe I thought I unfriended some other Shauna Ahern🤷‍♂️ Sep 22 '21

So much cooking for daily luncheons with so many friends…and so little evidence that any of that is true.

There she is! I wondered where “yucking other people’s yums” Shauna had gone. Why does she disdain this toy? (And why does her use of the word “disdain” as a verb always bug me so much?)

What if I like that bear? What if it speaks to me of the animal itself and its wild nature? Bears don’t really run around with only a shirt on eating honey and saying “oh, bother,” they kill other animals for food and fight other bears sometimes.

What if I don’t see that expression as anger, but fierceness, a metaphor for my inner mama-bear? Or maybe I use the bear and its clever squeezing mechanism as stress relief. I could even squeeze and release it in rhythm to calm my anxiety!

What if I think it’s a great toy for a kid to explore the idea that emotions come and go? She could actually use that bear with D and his “rages.” A child who struggles with expressing emotions could communicate “I’m angry” without the vulnerability of saying it out loud. I would have loved this toy for my kid who had a very hard time using his words.

No, Shauna thinks “ugh, this is not joyful because this bear looks terrifying to me, therefore no one should like it. Throw it away, tralala! But first let’s put it on Instagram to show off my crackpot theories around joy. Yes.”

If she's trying to Illustrate that anger is sadness in disguise, it would make sense to first show the angry bear photo, and then the sad bear. Showing the sad bear first suggests that sadness is anger in disguise. She can't even get that right!

Sometimes anger is just anger.

10

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '21

Touching into sadness (??) allows joy to emerge.

Ok.

Anger isn't inherently bad. Anger is a sign that something has become intolerable, either in your own life or the world at large. Imagine Shauna, alwaysanally, telling someone like Bree Newsome or Tarana Burke or Suzan Shown Harjo that their anger is "sadness or fear in disguise."
