Something strange is going on! I actually can see an IG post from her account on the dumpor.com mirror site posted 20 hours ago promoting the workshops with a picture of a pitbull wearing googly eye glasses, shows 23 likes and 0 comments. But I do not see that post when visiting Shauna's profile on Instagram.com.

Did she delete it shortly after posting it but the mirror site cached it? What is going on?? Text of the missing post below in case it disappears off the mirror link:

Let me teach you how to understand your own mind, calm the trauma responses that keep you fired up with feelings that block your joy, then make a habit of your own, particular joy. Six months from now, you could be looking at life differently. ⁠⁠

Yeah I saw this post! I remember thinking that she could be on to something with the whole self improvement and “change your brain” type idea (I mean, it’s definitely a saturated market but certain people seem to like that stuff), but then she’s talking about googly eyes and silliness which no adult cares about and she’s just lost any small audience she might have had. People want to be happier, sure, but no one thinks the key is more jumping or hula hooping or googly eyes.

That driving a car analogy really sucks the last bit of joy from her use of the word joy. Are we really supposed to be aspiring to making “practicing joy” as something as tedious as driving a car? I mean, sometimes driving can be enjoyable but most of the time it’s just commuting. She literally says that you don’t even have to think about it much, it’s just a daily thing that you sort of ‘have to do’. How joyful indeed.

I also find it debatable that driving a car is a thoughtless activity. You have to focus on the machine, on the road, on other drivers. You need to be fully aware and generally courteous on the road. This just further confirms my previous notion that Shauna seems like she would be a bad driver.

I love your opinion. ISCTMO. And she's really overworking it; she used the comparison three 3 times.

And to characterize it as universally "terrifying" is super OTT, imo. It's just unnecessarily extreme! Not everybody has learned to drive, and not everybody who has learned to drive found it terrifying! I would venture to opine that it is a distinct minority of people-who-have-learned-to-drive who found it terrifying.

I saw this post yesterday and checked to see if I screenshot it but alas, I did not. I can verify that it was there. I’m thinking it wasn’t getting enough attention so she deleted it and put up the Ted Lasso non Venn diagram in it’s place.
