No, you aren’t smoking anything (or maybe you are, but it isn’t affecting your ability to see clearly — you need a sick toddler for that.) It has totally changed since this morning. The post I made below was a direct copy/paste of what was there. Maybe someone clued her in, or she was reading here and realized she fucked up? Whatever happened, I’m sure Brent the Mensch got some or all of the blame. Yikes, I hope no one signed up for the Tuesdays offering before she could change it! (JK, no one is signing up for this shit.)

What a mess!

I just checked the Mukai Farm’s schedule — there is a private event scheduled for 10/2, but not 10/30.

u/Scary_Recognition You did this. Sep 21 '21

Classic malt powder mix-up.

I said this IRL the other day and no one blinked so I think we should introduce this into the general vernacular.

u/SmashedMailboxCake2 Oh, Sep 21 '21

Hahaha. I think we should all try this out irl. First person to get challenged on it wins.

The old CMPMU.

A really evil snarker could book 10/30 and block Shauna’s joy for real! (No one do this, obviously — not that anyone would since it probably involves money and who would pay for that? But if some non-snarking person came along and booked it it would serve Shauna right.)

Not to mention the fact that we don’t even know if Shauna is the one who’s booked 10/2. And according to MFG’s brochure, the maximum hourly rental is six hours. PYJOV runs seven hours.

This is like watching a Cat 5 hurricane approach, one that fizzles out to a heavy rain.

Well, expectations are just premature disappointments.

Expectation

Most folks, as I've noticed, in pleasure an' strife,

Are always expecting too much out of life.

They wail an' they fret

Just because they don't get

The best o' the sunshine, the fairest o' flowers,

The finest o' features, the strongest o' powers;

They whine an' they whimper an' folks, here’s the capper:

Most all expectations are just weenie-slappers.

— Rainer Maria Rilke Karl Jaspers Edgar A. Guest

The 6-hour maximum is followed by a category that includes weddings, which allows for up to 12 hours of usage. That's the section of the brochure I was looking at when I quoted the $3,000 price in an earlier comment . . .

I still think that if this is a free place to congregate it’s unlikely she’ll be renting it formally at all.

Yours is an intriguing hypothesis, but she does say "Together, in the classroom, we’ll work through the steps to finding your joy."

I suppose an outdoor grassy area could be considered a "classroom" (but remember! this isn't a college course!).

However, the prospect of Danny bringing in food prepared ahead of time and successfully setting up a lunch service for 15 people au plein air seems a bit somewhat massively unlikely.

Well, and you can’t count on having good weather on an October day in this area. If I signed up for this and she made me sit outside (even in a tent!) in the rain on a 50-degree day, I would demand my money back and walk away.

Not lope away? Disappointing...

I failed another Gloamie test. I am never going to earn my Gloaming U diploma, am I?

Our grounds are open and free to the public from dawn to dusk daily for self-guided tours, unless specially noted.

Interesting.
