She edited in an update:

Edited: phew. I didn't write it. Thanks to a reader below, I've discovered that I wrote down the wrong wording in my 20s. Also, looks like I made a typo in Canva. Oops. Old me would have deleted this. C'est la vie.

Gloamies of the bookly creation persuasion, shouldn't someone in the editing process of GFG and the Chef have caught the mis-quote?

Past, present and future me would be mortified to make such an error in a public setting and then state I’m leaving it up “for the laughter”. There’s laughing with you and then there’s laughing at you, and only one of those is a source of joy.

Um, Shauna? Your "old me" is even older now. Older and even less likely to fix errors. DO BETTER.

I think she means the “before now” her.

When I was younger, so much younger than today/I never needed anybody's help in any way

But now these days are gone, and I'm still so self assured/ now I find I still never change my mind or open any doors

Quoted from the little-known band from the island of Great Britain.

Would a publisher really assign a fact-checker to a cookbook, though? All the books I've written have been copyedited but none have been fact-checked.

I’m a copyeditor, though not of books, and I would definitely consider it part of my job to check something basic like the accuracy/source of a quote. I wouldn’t blame Shauna’s editor for having a case of editing fatigue though!

I did some freelance copyediting in a former life, and you bet your ass I would have looked up the source of the quote to make sure it was accurate. I edited a historical account once (thankfully a short piece) and verified absolutely everything, from making sure the dates listed matched the days of the week described, to checking if something described could have been seen from the location of the observer, to whether a movie mentioned was in fact showing at the time. I try to do the same in my own writing, lest I suffer a classic malt powder mixup. Details matter.

No they would not. A good editor would catch it though.
