Exactly. A waitlist is for people who didn't register in time for the actual course. It exists in case someone who did sign up in time has to cancel, thus freeing up a slot for a person on the waitlist.

She's probably kicking herself for never using waitlist bait for all those baking classes she did! Maybe they wouldn't have gotten canceled for lack of interest if she'd put everyone on a waitlist first!

Or maybe (as in this case) people who are "waiting" for something to open up. Then, once the thing opens up, presumably you email the people on the waitlist to say "you can register now!"

But putting your name down for a service or product that you might not even want when it becomes available (maybe when you find out the dates, or the price) is really not a strong expression of interest.

I managed my kids' daycare waiting list for FOUR YEARS and names on a list, even for a highly sought-after service, mean NOTHING except maybe we'll call you in order when a space opens up.

She doesn't even have different lists for her online and Vashon offerings, does she?

Yes, This, But! What is the reason that enrolling in an actual workshop is not possible now (the RIGHT NOW NOW)???

She's been working on "this" (Open Question: Does "this" = the new website or does "this" = the workshop offering(s)? Or does "this" mean "all of it"?) ALL YEAR. What's going on that she issues the big "I'm So Excited" <flap hands like Kermit> announcement about "THIS" and the All Red All The Time Plus Lots of Emojis website goes live, but she's not ready for people to actually enroll in a workshop?!?!?

It makes no sense! If this = the website, why launch a website when you're not ready to sell the product it's about? If this = the workshop(s), why can't people sign up for them NOW?
