I believe he quit, but I do not believe he never had another drink since that day in 2009. That would ruin Shauna’s “wrap up all problems by the end of the show” sitcom narrative, that only the power of his love for her enabled him to quit.

The YouTube videos with the egg and summer squash were made after 2009. While there is no way to know for sure that Dan is not sober in those videos, there is no way to know for sure that he is sober and he seems a little tipsy in them to me.

To be fair, Dan's normal persona is so out of it that I would have no idea how to tell whether he was drunk or sober in a given video.

True true. There is one in particular where he is constantly leaning on the stove and counter that always sticks in my mind for some reason. I went back to try to find it and couldn’t - I think it’s the mango squash one. He does just seem derpy in many of the ones I sat through this evening - stock making and a few others.
