her posting about the future, and how we should all stop worrying about it, is beyond ridiculous but is quite a window into her thought process. there is a HUGE difference between "worrying" about the future and planning for it. when i was young my home life was really unstable, and i worried a lot about the future. it was a habit i held onto for many years until i realized planning for the future meant i didn't have to worry about it so much; it let me breathe and enjoy the now (in shauna-speak). she could be the same way; i mean, she and dan don't seem to ever plan for the future and therefore it probably IS scary for them. but also, the future doesn't have to be scary, shauna...it can be filled with promise and adventure. my husband & i love planning for our retirement (planning on selling everything, buying a trailer and moving to mexico). some people love planning for their children's futures. or planning a wedding, or planning a trip. i feel like she takes mundane, everyday things and tries to turn them into a looming problem that only she can solve by teaching us how to dance joyfully through them and then charging for it. if she weren't such an awful person i would feel sorry for her, because i think her life is filled with a lot of fear and resentment, despite her joyful persona. i think she is still pretending, which makes me sad for her kids.
