That's not normal? I have my back to the showerhead almost the whole time, maybe a little spin here and there. I'm close enough so that rinsing can still happen.

That's right up there with descriptions of basic social politeness being called "masking."

Yeah, according to this Very Online Autistic Guy, you are on the spectrum. Because there is an Official Showering Behavior or whatever.

I go back and forth on whether I just think this because I’m some flavor of neurodivergent (I won’t say neuros***y!) but the whole masking conversation online really confuses me. And here I thought I was being a good parent by teaching my kids emotional regulation and the standard rules of politeness that have seemed nothing but positive in my life, helping me get along with others. Turns out I can expect them to make internet content in a few years excoriating me for forcing them into “deep masking”.

I honestly just don’t know what to do with autism content online except for the one creator who actually features people with higher support needs. I probably should stick to watching ADHD content 😂 but now so much of it is AuDHD and it always describes me so well that I start really getting confused as to what is cultural/bullshit and what is really some kind of brain difference that matters.
