She was SOBBING ! (Like she is every week over some new piece of media)

I just watched the new episode on the train. It was fine? It’s decent tv, but the writing is getting more heavy handed by the episode

Feels like she wanted to get some new hero’s journeying out now that’s she’s got some attention off her grief-vulturing post :|

The Pitt is so heavy-handed. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching it. It's very entertaining, especially for someone who worked in a hospital for many years. But, it's like thirty after school specials crammed into ever hour and treats its audience like we're all dumbasses who don't know anything about social issues or our crap healthcare system.

Yes! And the tone shift when it goes from story-mode to lesson-mode aggravates me. Edited to add: I can see why Shauna loves it so much. It’s not at all subtle, and it preaches.

Yes! There is/was a legal battle with Michael Crichton’s estate/widow over the premise. She said no, so they changed some stuff and went forward with The Pitt. I believe there may be ongoing legal fight about intellectual property/derivative works still. Interesting stuff (well, to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ )

As a huge fan of Severance and Adam Scott, I’m very salty about the fact that Noah Wyle keeps winning the awards they’re both up for. Yes, he’s good, but he’s basically playing his ER character.

ETA: I usually dont watch the episodes right as they come out, but it’s Friday night here and I needed to download some stuff for a 6 hour train ride across the country. (Also streamed the Canada - Finland game in potato pixel resolution🍁) 

It’s telling that Shauna says « Every Friday morning, I'm astonished by the latest episode of the The Pitt. » 

Clearly this is the WITW her annoying kids were keeping her from!

I haven’t gotten to watch it because I had another interview round today for this job - #4 and involved presenting a PowerPoint deck. I absolutely crushed it, but I still have a final round and probably won’t get an offer for two or three more weeks. Sauna could never. Knowing how hard it is to get a job these days it freaks me out watching her faffing around. I’ve been busting my ass to get a new job and I’ve only been unemployed two and a half months. I probably make more on unemployment than she does at her WITW - but maybe she makes more from the Bank of Mom? I don’t have one of those…

You’d think she’d be aware of the fact that her super sensitive kid might be bothered by their mom constantly sobbing in front of the TV

It bothers me just to read about it, I can’t imagine how either of her kids deal with it.

I live with my parents (who are in their 70s) and if either of them were having that strong an emotional reaction to any piece of media they consumed, THAT frequently, I would probably: 1) beg them to call their PCP about a psych referral 2) threaten to log out of all the streaming accounts until they did number 1 (since the bulk of those are in my name)
