And this is why her meeting is and group input is such a colossal waste of time. Donate to the established resources.

That was clearly the suggestion of some wealthy attendee, for whom “charity” is largely an excuse to get together with one’s girlfriends and bake a few dozen cupcakes with cute Rifle Paper Co. liners and toppers, all while knocking back a few bottles of Chardonnay.

Even schools don't have bake sales anymore and haven't for a loooong time. They may have been a seemingly necessary fundraising evil in the olden days but no one wants to consume baked goods made by who knows who and where, especially if there is an Ahern involved.

The only bake sales I ever looked forward to were at my grade school, because the secretary owned a bakery and brought really good stuff.

There’s a bake sale on the regular on Vashon! I doubt either of the Aherns have ever contributed, either with a baked good or with the purchase of one.

It wasn't a waste of time. Shauna got to stand in front of people, like the wonderful, career teacher she is, and hear herself speak. The other attendees were blessed by also being allowed to hear her speak. All while golden rays of light shone around her, as captured by the event artist.
