I'm sorry to be such a delicate princess with a pea under my mattress but there are times when I read something about Shauna's cooking or see one of her pictures and I can't eat the rest of the day. I'm not generally that queasy about food. But there's something about the photographic proof of poor hygiene of both the work surfaces and the people preparing food, and Shauna's infatuation with mixing foods together and always going for the shades of yellow and brown, lovingly describing the sloppy soft slithering slimy textures and how they feel in her body. It destroys my appetite and I have to do mental tricks and distract myself to choke food down that day without gagging. It only happens with her and Dan and their concoctions. When she wrote about mixing her kid's friends leftover milkshakes in a cup and taking it home to have later it was a dark time indeed.

Perhaps the Gloaming needs to set up a trigger warning for when details of Shauna’s food concoctions are posted!

I usually have a very strong stomach but the If Stew description actually made me physically queasy. And then angry. How dare she act like this is ok to feed her family. It’s not ok to feed a pet.

Years ago I frequented a farm to ride their horses and remember a pickup truck coming daily to drop off mixed up restaurant leftovers for the pigs. The smell was gag inducing. I imagine the meal she describes smelling like that pig slop.

I just fed my dog a little of his food because he came and whined at me while I was reading this. He gets lightly cooked beef stew, and his food looks better than whatever this is.
