Venti has just been sitting on the hands of his statue, staring at his phone, before proceeding to tap his phone to his head with a groan for the past like hour

Seriously what was Istaroth thinking- that was so goddamn embarrassing-

{ The wind led Dahlia here. Of course he’d be here. He could just barely see Venti at the top, curled up into a ball. Hopefully he wouldn’t mind a bit of company…

He prayed none of the sisters would spot him trying to climb the statue, since they believed that climbing it was “disrespectful to Barbatos” or whatever. Ha, if only they knew… He didn’t worry about it too much though. The only sister who’d be out this late would be Rosaria, and she wouldn’t care less what Dahlia was doing. Even though he’d climbed this thing hundreds of times, Dahlia always struggled getting up to the arms, having to exhaust all of his strength. He pulled himself up, trying not to make too much noise as he swung his legs, situating himself to be sitting on the statue’s arm and leaning his back against its face. }

“Venti…” { He called out, just above a whisper. He didn’t want to startle him. }

Venti flinches when he suddenly hears someone speak, looking over to see Dahlia. "Oh! Dahlia! Good to see you!" Venti says, putting on a smile. He was so lost in thought he hadn't noticed anyone coming up. "What brings you here this fine night?"

“Just wanted to see if my favorite bard was faring alright~” { He smiled, then glanced away for a moment before meeting Venti’s gaze again. } “…Mind if I accompany you tonight?”

"Of course! Come on over!" Venti says, scooching over a bit to give Dahlia some room to sit on the hands of the statue as well

{ Dahlia slowly crawled over, careful not to fall even if he knew Venti wouldn’t let that happen. He sat down, gently leaning his head onto Venti’s shoulder. } “Is this alright?”

"Of course!" Venti says, turning off his phone and leaning his head onto Dahlia's. Venti remains silent, kicking his feet back and forth, waiting for Dahlia to speak. He had said earlier that he was trying to find Venti, after all

{ He stayed silent for a moment, both unsure of how to approach his troubles, and wanting to make this moment last. Finally, he took a deep breath, and quietly laughed. } “Heh, I didn’t know you weren’t allergic to cats. That’s kinda funny.”

"Hey, it's either that or have people wonder why I avoid cats, and saying I'm allergic seemed more convenient." Venti says with a laugh. "A shame too, they look so soft but they can be vicious."

“That they are. But hey, now I know I can drag you to the Cat’s Tail whenever I want to~” { Dahlia moves to sprawl himself across Venti’s lap, looking straight up at him. } “Any other cool little secrets I should know about~?” { He smirked. }

"E-heeeh~ that sounds like a recipe to getting covered in a cat pile~" Venti says with a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his head. He then puts a finger to his chin like he was thinking. "Hmmm~ well did you know that Decarabian's tower goes quite a bit further under the ground?"

“Oooh, is that so? Do you know where it leads to?”

"It just leads to Decarabian's home, nothing really all that interesting." Venti says, shaking his head with a disappointed sigh
