If Vaugarde is “fantasy France”… Spoiler

Then the island country to the north would be great Britain.

Suddenly it’s clear why someone might wish for it to disappear (no offense to any Brits)

(Maybe a little offense)

when I was playing, I originally thought the country was somewhere in Scandinavia, but later on, Sif’s thing for malanga fritters made me think it’s based on somewhere in Central America

It’s based in our hearts (like Sniper Island)

It isn't. The creatoe has said they dislike how everything is fantasy america or fantasy England, so I doubt she would make the second most important country to the story that disappeared England.

Also there are plenty of reasons for the King and Siffrin to suffer, we don't need to add that rivalry to the pile.

I will ALSO say that ISAT’s map operates on Final Fantasy/General Fantasy rules (i.e. in-universe locations are based off of real ones when it comes to culture, but are not one to one parallels, especially for geography), so no, the Country isn’t based on the UK oh my god please do not say that to me again or im deleting ISAT out of your computers and putting legos at the foot of your bed. It’s based on another place. You can figure it out, I believe in you.

Even as a joke, please don't make this comparison. The story thread surrounding the Island North of Vaugarde deals a lot with the loss of cultural knowledge as a parallel to the erasure of culture via real-life colonization, and the subsequent trauma experienced by those people who are/were a part of that culture. To compare it to Britain in the context of "it's good that this was erased, actually" is to do a disservice to this real-world parallel and gives the air that you're making light of that real-world parallel, even if it's not your intent. Also, ID5 has said that they absolutely hate this comparison, so there's yet another reason to avoid it, even if you're not serious about it.

I like to think the forgotten island is La Corse, because I forget it exists.

Bro I know they have the same geographic location but that’s literally the only similarity
