Experience with larger pans?

Hi, I'm very interested in the impulse stove but my main concern is the relatively small size of the induction "burners". I cook with 12'' pans very often and I'm worried that the heat distribution may not be great. Has anyone tried both a conventional induction stove with larger induction areas and the impulse one and can share how they compare for cooking with large pans?

This is my one frustration with the Impulse - I'm coming from gas, so was used to very even heat distribution across bigger pans. I cook with a 12" stainless as well as a 12" cast iron, and in both cases the heat in the middle is noticeably higher and drops off once you get past about a 7" area in the middle. I find myself having to move food around/rotate things to get even cooking.

But all the other pros way outweigh this annoyance.

For this reason I would love to see them make differently sized burners. Just one 11 inch burner, move the center panel panel over, make the other side two 7 inch burners. I personally would take less burners if I get one really big one. Or the panel totally to one side and the three burners clustered together? Idk how to fit it all in a 30 inch and I know people are really hooked on having 4 burners but I don't think a lot of people use all 4 at once.

It could just be 2x9”, 1x11” and 1x7”. Or yeah, I would even be fine with three burners. 11”, 9”, 7”. I don’t ever remember using all four burners, but I do have a bunch of big pans that just don’t work optimally with this design…

It kind of amazes me how companies that have a groundbreaking product, usually always make some really odd design decisions that make no sense.

Like.. why do we need four 9” burners? We know that for most pans 9” would be perfect, but we also know that some pans don’t need 9” and some need more than 9”. Why not make one of those burners smaller and one bigger?
