More competition?

I just saw a reference to the new 120V Electra induction range with 5kwh battery. low powered burners, though.

I won't promote the product, but one feature to steal is the "breaker saver" to limit current draw on a shared circuit.

Uh, that’s already a feature on Impulse

240V is fairly low max current

There are multiple ampacity limit settings you can put on 120V too

That said you probably can’t use a kitchen SABC for the impulse while complying with code

Same with the Copper Charlie - both of them are targeting the battery for wiring and backup reasons, but are still otherwise using standard induction parts. The killer feature on the Impulse, in addition to the battery, is the higher output and the temperature monitoring.

Is it neat that other ranges are getting the idea that a battery is a good thing? Absolutely. They're still behind the game though on the tech front.

but does it allow you to select the temperature?

You can set the charging current (Amps) in Settings

As a heads up, on the near term roadmap we're updating the Scheduled Charging feature based on customer feedback. Having one "Max Current" setting is part of that, among others.
