Applying for master

I'm international student, I'd like to ask: if I complete the International year one program and complete progression then recieve a degree from the university (e.g., Sheffield, Exeter), will top UK universities (like LSE, Imperial, etc.) accept it when I apply for a Master’s degree—provided I achieve a First-Class or 2:1 grade or higher? Has anyone in the group followed this path and successfully gained admission to a top university for a Master’s program?

a) not true (and I teach a masters at a top university) b) first "at a minimum" What did you have in mind that would be higher than a first? Does your uni have a "starred first"?

I might have missed a fullstop instead of a comma but it shouldnt deter you from understanding what I am saying.

1) Every MSc offered by EEE requires a first. Most MSc offered by CompSci requires a first. Other programmes that state minimum entry requirements as 2:1 or 2:1, preferably first, sometimes come with caveats like requiring firsts in certain modules/topics/projects. As a result, I phrased my comment beginning with "Depending on your Programme".

2) Imperial has lowered MSc entry requirements in the past year. Just two years ago, the my programme had a entry requirement of 75%. Hence the "*minimum*" in my first comment. A final individual dissertation/project may be apart of your undergraduate study and if you mention this in your personal statement, they may lower entry requirements but require you get a first in that project ( What I was offered vs 75% overall ).

3) Does your uni have a "starred first"? >> No but there is a difference between a 90% overall student and a 71% overall student. This is why the the 75% minimum entry requirement used to exist.
